advice
I am @ the end of my seventh grade year and am already thinking of colleges(I know,I know)But i am one of those people who are obsessed with my education and trying to plan ahead. I love litereature and acting.I live in Massachusetts. I am also interested in history. Does anyone have any ideas? I am a great student and like evry subject except math (although I am good @ it) Thanks (I rate HIGH)
Great job for planing ahead, you must be every parents dream child! I now live in an area where the pressure for college is huge and so people planing in 7th grade and working till they drop for school grade is the norm. The best thing you can do for yourself (not just college applications) is find out if you truly enjoy working in that field. YOu love english? Join a school newspaper and write (even if its for yourself). Try to get short stories published when you are a bit older (magazines love that stuff) and maybe even intern somwhere. English is just one example, bue I think that whatever you love, pursue it and find your niche. I strongly recommend in state schools because they are cheaper and the huge (15 years worth of ) debt is just not worth it. If you are lucky enough not to have to worry about money then have your reach schools (for you it may be Duke or Stanford) your range schools (generally in state schools that you proably will get into) and your safety's (community colleges and other state schools that you definately will get into). Remember to do community service and one other thing (a sport, an extra intrest) out side of school. Colleges love it. Good luck!!! Most importantly though, remember to enjoy high school (you only get to survive it once....).
