I got this as a Christmas present last year, and just today tried to instal it. However, my dad unfortanetly got the Special DVD Edition! I don't have a DVD-ROM drive in any of the 5 computers in my house, not including my dad's totally off-limits work-only PC. The normal CD-ROM drive I have doesn't even recognize the disc Sims 2 came with as a disc at all! :/ Is there any way I can get around this and install it? Or do we have to drop another $40 on the normal version? -sigh- (link)

Get a new computer. Perferably a Mac. If it doesn't work on Mac's, too bad. USE A MAC! We all SHALL!!!

Shut up, not everyone likes Macs! Plus this advice isn't serious, shy the heck would I get a new computer when this is only a DVD-ROM related problem, hmmmmm??
