i had a best friend who did this too. the thing is she lied about everything for a year straight. and it sounds mean, but the only way i could get her to stop was to finally just catch her in a lie right as she said it and confront her about it very firmly. she got mad at me for it, but then she call me that night and told me she was sorry, she shouldn't have done it, she understood why we (my friend and i) were mad, and she'd never do it again. and as far as i know, she never did. i hope i could be of some help.
