me and my friend have decided to get eachother presents. well, we are like best friends so i got her something special that took me a long time and trouble. it coct about $30 but she is my best friends, so she deserved it. today she said she would tell me what she got me if i told her wat i got. it turns out she got me a $3 key chain!!!!!! i smiled and said "thanks, can't wait to see it!" but inside i was screaming. she already knows what i am getting her so i can't return it and she said she was so excited it was a great gift. im mad, is that wrong? what should i do? i dpn't wanna hurt her feelings but c'mon! please help, i rate high. This tends to happen quite a lot.
I understand how hurt you must feel - try talking to your friend about it and explain why you feel so upset. I mean I'm sure it's not an issue of cost but the thought behind the gift. She went out and picked a random something for you whereas you put a lot of thought into her gift.
As I said, I would definitely try and talk to her about this - if you feel you don't want to then me and my friends have a great way of buying gifts at christmas and birthdays.
There are 4 of us - Myself, Liss, Juanita and Cheryl. We all put £10 in for each person then we'll all get together and buy a joint present for example - I get a gift that is jointly from Juanita, Cheryl and Liss. Juanita gets a gift jointly from Me, Juanita and Cheryl...etc etc. This is great because it means you get 3 times as much though go into the present thatn if just 1 person bought it, and it also means you get to go shopping with your best friends!! What more could you ask for!!
