Well I need some advice on eating more healthy and reguarly. I'm only 14 but my mother isn't home at night (she works the night shift and McDonalds) and I am in charge of feeding myself. I will be honest I am a good cook to a point though I could still use guidance every now and then. I have the habit of not knowing what to cook so I will end up just eating watered down cream of chicken and egg noodles which I know is not good for me all the time. I like Salmon really well and eat in quite often but that gets tiring. Lately food has taken over my life. I'm always secretly wondering if I should have eaten that, what will I eat for dinner, I don't have anything in the house I need to go out and get something, and I really hate that. I'm not fat I'm normal for my height and I want to just learn to eat at certain times and just have healthy snacks inbetween instead of cookies for my snacks.
If any of you on here can think of some good well balanced meals please answer. Thanks in advance.
i don't really know any well balanced meals but...
here are some filling things that could make you eat less:
apples/fruits, large yogurts/smoothies, hot cocoa/chocolate or tea.
don't drink soda... ask your mom to buy you a cook-book with low fat cooking recipes... there are also plenty of websites with ideas to help.
if you're one of those people who eats when they are bored or "Just feel like it"... eat crackers, veggies - especially celery, cheese sticks, small yogurts, small fruits - especially grapes, beef jerky - not really good for you.
a well balanced dinner meal generally includes: cooked meat, pasta/bread/rice/grain, vegtable/fruit/ tomatoe/potato, beans/nuts/cheese, a side dish such as salad - garlic bread - french bread - corn bread, and a good healthy drink such as milk or water.
good lunch: sandwich, salad, soup, veggies and meat, oh and *cafeteria food* is not good for you.
good breakfast: grape juice/orange juice, fruits, yogurts, toast, oatmeal, bagels, muffins, crackers
NOT: donuts, croissants, sugary cereals, pop tarts, bacon...
