Okay, this is kind of weird for me, but I want/need help...I'm in this after school women's ensemble, and we're singing this piece, Unchained Melody. I love the song. It's pretty, it's fun to sing, and it has meaning - but that's the problem. For some reason, it really strikes a chord, and I've never been able to sing through it without crying. Obviously you can't sing when you cry because your throat tightens up. I do have the option of telling our director that I can't sing the piece, but I don't want to do that because I like it. I can't just sing it flatly without emotion because that's just...bad. Anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this, or help me in any way? (link)
ok. heres what u do. u can think about all the good things in life. u kno... stick it! act as if u r in boot camp. bight ur tongue if u start to tear, and look at all the people watching you. think how great it is when they hear your beautiful voice! i have gone threw the hole thing 2 times b-4. its hard but this will work. trust me. but sometimes when ur up set, u stand up straight and sing ur heart out to let them feel ur emotion too. i have done this too.. lol.

I love to let the audience feel the emotion I'm feeling, but my voice seriously just cuts out when I cry. Like, I can barely even talk. It's sucky. Thanks for your advice, I appreciate it =)
