i moved in june to the west side of canada, and in september one of my freinds died from cancer i wans't able to go to his funeral but i still miss him, and now i jsut found out another one of my firnds has cancer in the same place that my freind that died did, what can i do to get my mind off of this (link)

its not so much that you need to take your mind off of it, because when and if he/she does die you'll feel gulity for not thinking about it.
what you should do is try your damndest to do everything in your power to fight cancer. ya i know that sounds stupid, but i just recently found out that my mom had breast cancer, and now i'm participating in the breast cancer walk in my communitee, and i feel good about it. try to participate in as many cancer fundraisers as possible, so that you feel good about yourself. it will also help take your mind off of your friend who died, because you're working hard to stop this eppidemic.
