I was in this situation almost 2 years ago. Sometimes, if you really like him and the feeling is mutual on his part, you have to go for it. That's what I did, and I've been with my boyfriend for 20 months now.
If this long distance relationship is so awkward, why are you still in it? Before you start going out with local boys, you need to break it off with him if you're feeling awkward.
