Q: Hello, first I would like to say that I am a 16/m and I started smoking weed every weekend and some weekdays since August. I went off to go hotbox my friends truck tonight and we did, and we had a blast. I was out from about 4-9, and we didn't smoke til about 6. Anyways, when I came home about 30 mins ago I said hello to my mom and then I started eating. My mom was like "What's wrong with your eyes... oh my gosh.. what have you been doing?" And I said "What!? Nothing! What do you think I've been doing? I stayed up really late last night watching a movie and then I woke up early and then I drank an energy drink so I'm really tired!" well then my mom was like "then go look in the bathroom mirror." and Oh my God. My eyes weren't TOO bad, but they were still hella glossy and a bit red, and wow were my pupils dialated. I simply said Mom, I DONT do drugs. I'm really tired... that's all... and she was like "whatever. take out the dishes." What I'm wondering is how do I deal with this? My mom will probably think that I have smoked before and then she will get mad, even though she used to smoke weed when she was my age. Thanks for any input, sorry for the long story :P

To be honest with you, and this might sound stupid, but you really should talk to her about it. Most mom's understand stuff like that. It may be hard and she may get upset but she's your mom, and she loves you. She is most likely going to tell you how bad it is to smoke weed and that she doesn't want you to do it. I am about to have a daughter in February and I know if she came to me and told me she was smokeing weed, I would be upset... But like your mom, I used to smoke, and because of that I would not be able to judge her (and neither can your mom.) I would suggest looking up information (whether on the internet or through books) on weed and the effects of it before you continue smoking. And any information you come up with, bring it to the table when you talk to your mom. It may help her to understand your decision to smoke if you show her that you really know what you are dealing with. Good luck, I hope it all works out for you!

Q: Ok so me and my ex boyfriend broke up in august 2006 and we were in love. Well for the past 2 and a half months we have been flirting a bunch and such and it was all great, but recently he actually made a move. It was Monday (December 11) that he asked me to go hang out with him after school, just us 2 alone. So yeah we hung out and it was really fun! We had a great time walking around and talking. . .he couldnt keep his hands off me. He was always tickling me and hugging me from behind and it was sweet. Then at one point he wanted a hug so I gave him a one and then he just never let go of me so then we just sat there and cuddled. It was sweet and it brought back many feelings. By the end of the night we both had huge smiles on our faces. It really felt like we were gonna get back together. . .he even wanted me to go to the movies with him on wednsday. But I had to work on that day so yeah I told him I couldnt go with him because of work.
But on tuesday, he acted like a complete jerk all day long. . .it made me cry. Course I didnt cry in front of him. Then after school he apologized and he was sweet on me again and we flirted a bunch. Then on wednsday and thursday he just flirted a little bit....no big moves or anything.
My problem is...why would he go from major flirting and making huge moves on me one night and then the next few days just not be as sweet as he was and just flirt a little bit with me. Why would he do that?!?!? He doesnt play games with me, because I know him that well. . .hes not that type of guy. Im just confused. . .what is going on with him? :S My friend says that guys get really vulnerable after they show their feelings and they go through this stage where they dont show their feelings that much. . .but enough to keep you wondering what the hell is going on. But I donno. . .I need more opinions.
So...help???

Guys are weird...hehe, everyone knows that! I have met many guyz that act that way. I used to hate it! I have noticed that it has a lot to do with other people. If you are trying to show affection to him when his friends or other girls that might like him are around, he will act funny like that. I am not sure why but that is just the way they all are. I would suggest the next time you are alone with him, talk to him about it. Ask him if he really does want to be with you again or if he is just doing this for fun (because some guys do stuff and act like they like girls just because they don't have a girlfriend and they know a girl that will flirt with them.) It might be hard to talk to him about it and he might even ac like he is not paying attention, but if you ask him about it, and he is serious about you, he will talk to you about it. Hope it works.

Q: This is a question for all the guys on advicenators... What signs do you show or do to a girl to tell them you like them? Girls have sings to signal to guys that they like them, so I'm wondering what signals or moves guys make to show a girl they like them or that they are interested.
thanks in advance.

Well I am not a guy but I am bisexual and I know what girls like. One thing I can tell you is that girls are all different. They all like different things. Some girls like roses some like daisies, some like romance movies some like comedy. It all depends on the girl. If you really want a girl to like you, ask around and see if you can find out some things she likes and use that to help you. Or you could just ask her out on a date (thats always a good sign to a girl that you like her.) I really hope i helped!! Good luck.

Q: Okay, so I've had my period for almost 2 years but I've only had it maybe a handful of times. I understand that that's completely normal. My question is - I started my period Wednesday and it's been REALLY heavy. Like heavier than it has ever been before. So heavy that I change my pad 3-4 times just during school. Usually I put one on in the morning and I can make it until lunch and then until I get home. But lately it's been taking me 6-7 just to get through an entire day. When I use the bathroom the entire toilet bowl water turns completely red and this is also the first time that I can tell when I'm bleeding.
So I was just wondering, has anyone ever had such a heavy period, is it normal to get it this heavy, could it be because I've gone so long without it (I haven't had my period since late July) or do you think there's something wrong about it being this heavy? Today is my 3rd day into it and it's still this heavy. Normally my period lasts about 5-7 days, but by the 3rd, it gets much lighter and by the 5 and on (if it goes longer) it's so light where one pad will last throughout an entire day and I only change when I go to bed and wake up. I'm so used to having a light period (or at least it only being this heavy the first day that I feel as if something is wrong. So any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I started my period when I was 9 years old and for the first year or so I didn't get it every month and when I did it was only for a few days and very light. Eventually I began haveing it every month like I was supposed to but only for 3-4 days and sometimes it would get very heavy. I started using tampons and at times it would get so heavy I would bleed through tampons and have to wear tampons AND pads. But it isn't normal to only have your period every few months. And if you have ever had sex, I would reccomend you get a pregnancy test just to be sure. And if you have never had sex I would highly reccomend seeing a doctor as soon as possible. Good luck, and I hope all is well.

I have always wanted to have my own advice column because many of my friends and family have come to me for advice, (especially my younger sisters and thier friends), and I always have something to tell them. I thought it would be nice to give advice to other people that need it as well. One good quality about me when it comes to my advice is that I have expierience both in the teen world and the adult world. I am also a soon to be mother and have some good advice for mothers and soon to be mothers. I have been through a lot for my age and I am more than willing to help ANYONE who needs it, and I hope I can do so.
