Do you ever feel like you're missing out when you move from place to place?

I've lived in London & Coventry in the UK (6 years), and in New Jersey (10 years). And my dad once was offered a job offer (a high paying job as a chemical engineer) in Munich, Germany, but turned it down. I live in Dallas, Texas now (1 year), and it's very boring here and I feel different from most people.. I was born in London so I'm the most nostalgic about it. When I'm older there's no doubt that I want to move back to the UK. But then I just think of all the possibilities of how my life could have been different.. I think I would have enjoyed the UK a lot more. Before we moved to America I was so excited and then i got homesick in like 2 weeks. But then I also imagine how things could have been if we moved to Munich.. which is a ve...

all of the people i care about and love in this world use me and i don't have the gall to tell them off. my boyfriend uses me for sex and ignores me thoughout the week, forgets our plans, doesn't give two shits about me. he was supposed to come over monday but forgot and never called. his way of apologizing for that was poking me on facebook. my friend uses me to get weed. and when not that, cigarettes. besides that, she thinks i'm the dumbest person on this planet and basically backhands me all the time (metaphorically) by insulting me. another friend only hangs out with me when she has something serious going on and needs someone who is willing to listen to hours of bullshit while smoking all of that poor person's cigarettes!!!

How do you know when you have a best friend

There's all these things saying that everyone has a best friend and what not but I've never felt that comfort in my life, ever. I've had friends.. but I never was close with them enough that I'd truly be able to call them best friends, you know? I was very close with 3 or 4 people in 4th grade but so far that's the high in my lifetime friendships and I'm 17 now. It seems like most people I consider "friends" are just "school friends". So I don't feel like I can depend on people, cause they will let you down. All those fun friend experiences I've rarely had. I haven't been invited to a birthday party in years, I've never been invited to a sleepover, I haven't hung out at a friend's house in more than a year, etc. I don't ...

My friend is about to lose her house

I have been friends with this girl for 11 years. We're both 17. Her parents are about to lose their house. When they lose it, they'll have to live with someone. Her parents will probably want to live with her Grandma. My friend wants to stay in our school district. Her step-dad is extremely proud and stubborn/childish. Do you think I should offer to have her stay with my family and me or would that be insulting?

my friend (16/f) cheated on her boyfriend at some point when they were going out and he recently found out and dumped her. i want to comfort her and be a good friend, but i don't know what to say to make her feel better. i've tried all the basics; "give him time, try to talk to him, apologize, don't worry about it, first days the hardest," etc. but she's still a mess. she was there for me when i was going through a breakup, but the difference between now and then was that my breakup wasn't my fault, the dude i was with just lost interest and it shocked me. this was her fault. she cheated on him with his best friend and thought he'd never find out. this "friend" i know i cant be friends with anymore. She was never a friend in the first place. Im 19 and female and my best friend hasn't been talking to me that much this week. We used to talk all the time. Now ever since I've been busy with school and work she's been hanging out with this other friend but theyre not best friends like me and her. I've never ever slept over at her house because theres been problems with her parents and me but that's changed now. Anyway this girl just slept over at her house and they hung out at the mall. so i posted a question about my friend is controlling. i mean she's like that around me and a few other girls she's close with. i don't know if she does that with her other friends. i decided to hangout with her less, but at some point she's going to ask me why and i plan on telling her because i am busy. i know i can't change her. but should i change my behavior and still hangout with her? i mean is it really worth it? because i mean she's become really religious and at first she would talk to me about Christianity and believing in Jesus and i was all for it but then i felt uncomfortable and it seemed like the church friends that she is friends with only like me when i go to church with them. i mean some of them are rude too, but my friend...

I think I'm mean to my friends

Before I say anything sorry if this is in the wrong category.
I know it sounds stupid but I'm not sure if I'm mean to my friends or just really close. Sometimes I'm kinda rude, not rude rude but joking around, and I'll whack them with a book, like not really hard but playing around, but we whack each other a lot, so. I can also be really stubborn and sometimes I blame them for non-serious things like dropping something, or say I told you so. I like to tell myself I'm not being that mean but I think I am and I feel bad about it. Is this normal or am I mean, and if I am how can I stop? Thank you

Ever since 8th grade I have struggled with having and keeping friends. I'm a senior in high school now and I'm still having trouble. People seem to be very jealous of me. I get told constantly "I never thought you'd be this nice, because you're so pretty and I though you were stuck up" or with my friends it's "well I mean I'd invite you to the party, but then all the guys would be all over you." or "everytine I introduce you to a guy, they always end up liking you, so I'm not

I have this really good friend, we're both girls and in 9th grade and her little sister, a few grades lower, thinks we're also close friends. I like her and all but she's always inviting herself over and keeps asking when I say no or hang on or I don't know, and when she does come over she eats my food, bullies my brother and doesn't listen to my parents. She also argues with her sister when they're over and doesn't listen to us. I don't want to hurt her feelings because she's kinda my friend but what should I do?

Reconnecting

I'm a junior in college and freshman year I met this kid Mike. We talked/saw each other out at parties every once & a while first semester. Then one day over the summer after freshman year I was at the beach and he came over to say hi and we talked a bit more. Sophomore year we talked when we saw each other, but I never saw him out. Now it's junior year and we've pretty much lost all connection. Whenever I see him neither of us say hello or anything, but we always make eye contact. Would it be weird to say hey this coming semester when I see him? I know we haven't spoke in awhile, but I think it's kinda impossible for him to competely forget who I am. I'm just nervous that is the case haha. Any advice would help, thanks!

shes not sure if he likes her.

My fiance's best friends wife - constanlty belittles me and I just
take it. She is from New Jersey and I'm from the South -North
Carolina. we are about 8 years apart -both mothers of
grown children and we each have grandchildren. If I say
white she says black - I finally had it on a vacation and told

hi, i'm a twenty year old who is afraid to fall in love. I'm asian and live in a conservative catholic environment. I once lost the guy I loved to the calling of being a priest, i was soo catatonic then that when I finally recovered my friend asked me not to enter a relationship till I at least finish collage. That was back when I was a junior in high school now I'm a senior in collage and i think i'm falling for my best guy friend. the same guy whom i promised I won't fall for. I'm afraid that if i tell him it'll put a dent in our friendship and i value him too much to risk alienating him for he is too important to lose.
