Recently a friend of mine got my dream job. It bothers me a lot because I spent a lot of time on my application and didn't even get a chance to interview. He threw together the application at the last minute, got an interview, and got the job.
I congratulated him and said I was glad he was able to get the job but the truth is I'm extremely jealous and think I deserved it much more than him. I'm mad he got it cause he really wasn't interested until I told him about it and I researched it about a year before I could even apply. It's a government job, is extremely competitive, and only hires about once every year. It is also a contract job so it's not like he will be able to help me get a job once he's in.

I'm sick of my friend's sister hanging around

Whenever my best friend comes over, her bratty little sister has to come too. I can't stand it anymore. They always end up fighting, and the sister calls their dad and they have to leave. I know it's mean but it's true. She's also always bugging me about coming over. I like her and all but she's not really my friend. We're all girls, I'm 14 my friend is 15 and her sister is like 10. How can I stop this but not be mean? They both are kinda moody, and get upset easily.

So I've known this guy lets call him Matt ever since 6th grade. We weren't friends but we grew up together in the beginning. So we ended up being friends. And we actually started becoming friends when we were seniors in high school. It's kind of sad I know. Now that we graduated we have become closer friends and we go to the same college as well. My best friends fight a lot

I have two really good friends. I'll call one Jen and one Lydia.
Jen is nice sometimes but other times (I hate to call her this) she's a real b****. Lydia is nice all the time, for the most part.
Well because of Jen (usually) they fight a lot. Recently they have been arguing because on V-Day Jen said to us 'I love you, no homo.' I understand that she doesn't want to seem lesbian. Lydia doesn't. She says that we know we're straight and it's ok without the no homo.
I don't want to take sides. I agree with Lydia that we're close enough to just say it, but I also think it's ok to clarify the no homo. Also, Lydia has a gay brother. (we all accept this.)

My best friend and I have been friends for a really long time and she met her fiancee through me, he was a friend of mine. Recently I moved into an apartment in their building and we have been together a lot more and I've seen a different side to her and I don't know what to do now that its pulling us apart. When ever they fight she throws me in the middle, they both call me their mediator, and she comes to me for advice. I told them I would give them my advice but I wanted to hear both sides to each argument everytime and it has always been that way.

it's going to be valentines day and one of my close friends wants to spend the day together. the thing is i don't really feel like spending time with her. on friday she made a very rude comment towards me, i just laughed it off. She's not the type of person you can talk to about how she makes you feel, it will just create an argument. I also recently stopped smoking weed in order to get myself together and she expects me to smoke with her every time we're together.

A lot of things have been building up to my being really angry at this one friend, only I don't feel that I can do anything about it: At school there are about 5 of us friends and we're all really close, so if I decide to de-friend this one person I'm afraid its going to create a rift between the five of us. I really don't want to come across childish either but I just feel so infuriated by her.

I have a friend, and he's one of my closest friends. I've known him for over two years now, ever since he was a little sophomore. He was never really very confident, so I helped him out by helping encourage the girls (who clearly had crushes on him) go for him.

So bestfriend and I are really close and I consider her to be a sister to me. But one thing I can't stand is her hanging out and being super friendly to ppl I feel like have wronged me many times. For example her and I had plans to hang out over the weekend and once I had gotten off of work I ran into her at MY house hanging out with an ex friend of mine who never seems to acknowledge my existance anymore. We all made awkward small talk and they went off to a party without inviting me even though her and I made plans to hang out. Am I justified in being upset???

he's about as weird as they get. i'm absolutely in love with him though. this guy is in a class of mine at school. he's not nerdy, he just doesn't go out, and doesn't really do anything about his social life, so we never cross paths outside of school aside from the internet where we talk. we've become good friends though and he clicks well with mine. i think he likes me by the way he smiles at me and talks to me differently than with other girls. he flirts with me like crazy and turns red every time we talk. he doesn't talk to many girls though. i try to make it obvious that i like him but boys can be stupid and i don't think he's getting the picture since he's never had a girlfriend or much experience, and i really want him to ask me to hang out. what do i do?

So i'm pretty unhappy right now. I'm in college and I'm not necessarily finding it hard to make friends but I'm not happy with my situation now. In high school, I despised my social situation. All I've ever wanted was to fit in like a puzzle piece in a group of friends that I love to death. I had a few good friends and a best friend (another bad situation, story for another time) and that was pretty much it. I know, you're thinking quality, not quantity but there was not much quality either and neither is there at this point. There's this girl, Julie who is one of my best friends. I started to realize my friend who I became friends with at the beginning of the school year is a complete loser. She looks like she has a mustache and she doesn't use common sense. She's really ugly, annoying, and hangs out with complete losers.
One of my friends dumped me last year because of popularity and I wasn't popular, I'm not popular, I probably never will be, but I will be considered a 'cool geek'.
