Little fern

I have dedicated this poem to my plant that will not grow.
little little fern why dont u grow,
little little fern i want to know,
i sit here waiting for you,
i just dont know what to do,
i put you outside i pit you inside,
but every since my cat ate u it died.
should i keep my fern?

I need to go out of town for like a week. Is it worse to give my plants tons and tons of water before I leave, just just give them the normal amount of water and let them wilt some when they run out and hope I can bring them back to life when I'm back?

mysterious house plant

So I have this plant. I can't identify it, trust me I've tried, but I know it's common... big green waxy leaves, one flower on a long stem that's white with one petal and this white spiny thing in the middle? But that's not my question... the problem is that this plant is just perpetually dying, it a really awful and depressing way. I water it almost every day, I repotted it, it's by a window where it gets a decent amount of light I think, but 80% of the time it's just wilted and sick looking. I don't know what to do. It could be a nice plant, I feel really bad that it's so crappy looking.
