ambitious & determined Posted Thursday July 22 2004, 4:02 pm
I'm a 15 year old female, who's very ambitious and goal oriented. I so bad want to go to Harvard. The only problem is, I don't do THAT well in school. I mean, I study sometimes and do my work. I know I have to work so much harder if I even want to even think about going to an ivy league School like that, but high school is so hard! My parents don't even think I'll make it to Harvard anymore. I'm so ambitious, but high school is over bearing! What should I do?

college help Posted Monday July 12 2004, 11:10 pm
I live in North Carolina and my mom and dad got divorced 3-4 years ago. He doesn't pay for much, and I know he won't pay for college. I'm 16...a Junior in High School and have 2 more years left for college. I really want to go to Boston University or University of Massachusetts because I love those schools and it's my home state. My mom said that I should go to college in North Carolina so it will be cheaper but I don't like many colleges here. The ones I do like (Duke University and Wake Forest University) are private and will still cost more. I told her I'd pay for law school and 4 year college but she wanted to pay for that. She said if I go to college up there then she'll only give me the amount a year that she would pay down here. What...

Little confused! Posted Friday July 9 2004, 7:15 am
I've decided that I would really like to go the Advertising route after I finish school. The problem is that I'm having difficulty pinpointing what kind of advertising I'd like to be involved with. I know that I don't have any artistic talent, so that's out of question. But I would really like to be one of the creative minds behind the actual catchy slogan creating, if you know what I mean. If you've ever seen What Women Want, then you know I'm talking about the job both Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt have. If anyone could tell me what this job is specifically called, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any advice given :)

College-Bound Posted Monday March 22 2004, 8:24 am
I live in a suburb of New York City and I'm a Senior in High School. I'm trying to decide where to go to college. My top 3 choices are Cornell, Florida State, and Miami, and I've already gotten into all three. Miami gave me a lot of money, but Florida State has the best program for what I want to do and Cornell is the closest to home. I love all three campuses and don't care about travelling far away, but I don't want to make the wrong decision.
Any thoughts?

Pastry Chef in the making Posted Thursday March 18 2004, 8:52 pm
Listen I'm 14 years old and I am above the 9th grade level in my reading and writing but i'm home schooled and so I have tought myself pretty much everything that I know. (I posted a question about not having an education on here before) Well I really want to be a Pastry Chef. (Yes there is a difference between a Pastry chef and a Chef.) But I'm not sure what kind of grades I need to get into a Culinary School. I know that my reading and writing really doesn't count but I don't know what kind of grades I need. Like do i need to have more than just good grades to be a pastry chef? I really love baking and baking anything that is like for dessert or sweets. Get the idea. I am really good at it too. I want to go to college to become a Pastry C...

College confusion Posted Tuesday February 17 2004, 10:05 pm
Yeah, usually I give advice, but I figured I'd ask this time. Two of you have already seen this question, but I thought I'd just put it out here for the rest of you to help me with.
Okay, here it goes. I've found my DREAM college. I mean, this is what I've been searching for since, like, ninth grade. I'm almost certain I'd be accepted there.
Problem 1 - CalArts is in Southern California. Now, I live in michigan and my mom doesn't want me to go that far away.
Problem 2 - The tuition. $22,190. My dad doesn't have a job, my mom can't work, and I don't have a job yet. Even if I did, I wouldn't be able to make that much by next year. However, I do have books written, and could publish them, but even with that I'm not sure I...

Seeks liberal technical school Posted Thursday October 23 2003, 4:56 pm
Being of a very scientific bent, I'd like to go to college at a technical school. However, every one of these school I read about seems very traditional, with sororities, fraternities, and lots of drinking. They never talk about how liberal the student body is or how much activism there is on campus. Do you know of any quirky, liberal technical schools with character, preferably somewhere in or around the northeast?
