CalArts

Posted Tuesday April 26 2005, 12:29 am

I was thinking of applying to CalArts in Southern California and was wondering what life was like at the school, how big classes are, what most students are like, what you're majoring in, etc.

Any info would help - thanks :)

Where could I find free grant information?

Posted Tuesday April 5 2005, 2:48 pm

Hi. I'm trying to become a published author. I'd like to publish my own book, but I need to look for some government grants to see if I can get any financial assistance in getting my book out there. Do you know any grant places that are accepting grant applications? Places in which I do not have to pay to get access to the grant information?

Thanks to all replies in advance.

Scholarships

Posted Tuesday March 29 2005, 9:30 pm

I was just wondering, I'm only a freshman, and I'm only 14 but I already have an idea of 3 colleges I want to go to, UNC chapel hill, Appalachian State, or Meredith. I was wondering, I know I have to get super good grades to get scholarships and stuff, but how do I go about getting them, and what scholarships are available, or where I can get information on how to get a scholarship. I want to start working towards getting better grades now so I can prepare for my future. If it makes any difference I want to be a teacher.
If this is confusing then sorry, I pretty much just want information on scholarships grade wise, I live in NC, but I don't think that matters. Thanks in advance.

Anyone know a good college for this?

Posted Tuesday March 22 2005, 12:32 pm

I am 15 years old. I enjoy writing, whether it be essays for class, reports, or just stories. Writing is probably the thing that I do best in school. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good college for writing, a college with a well known or successful creative writing class. If anyone can help, the advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

semester hours

Posted Sunday March 13 2005, 2:21 pm

to those of you who go to college: is 18 hours a semester a little too much? i'm a highschool senior, graduating early, and i also want to get through college as fast as possible too. i also want to work while i'm there... does this mean that i'd have no social life whatsoever? i don't want to kill myself with schoolwork like i have been this whole year but i also want to get out of there asap, i have my reasons.

Only for the serious

Posted Wednesday March 9 2005, 12:42 am

I got a big problem with college. I hate it every day I go drains years out of my spirit. I would rather be working and living it up on the weekends. Instead I find myself here. It's not that I am bad at college I am actually quite good. I've made the dean's list twice. My problem is I don't like it and it doesn't feel like its my thing. I am here to make my parents proud my mother had to drop out of college to have my brother and she never went back. I am like allowing her to live vicariously through me and it is killing my spirit. I would be the third person in my family on either side to graduate college but I am terribly unhappy even thought I know how much this will help my future. Any suggestions?

I wan to go to camp, but my mom wants me to take a college course at North Western, which would be okay, because I would take Journalism, which I like, but then I can't go to camp. I really like them both, well, I like camp more, but Taking a college course now will look REALLY REALLY good on, like anything. What do I do???????? Thanks! I Rate!!
