Overprotective Parents Posted Wednesday July 13 2011, 9:33 pm
Okay, so my parents are insanely overprotective and it's driving me nuts. My mom literally won't let me do anything. She gives me no freedom. I'm 14 and she still won't let me have a facebook even though EVERYONE I know has one, she won't let me go shopping with friends, see movies with friends, or walk or bike anywhere without her. It's embarrassing when my friends ask me to do something fun and I have to explain that my mom won't let me do it. I live in a wealthy, safe neighborhood where nothing ever happens. I'm so sick of following her rules and don't see how I can handle another four years before college with her. Also, her overprotectiveness is backfiring. It's making me rebellious. Little does she know I have ridden bikes all over to...

My Mother Is a Liar Posted Tuesday July 12 2011, 1:13 pm
When I was 12 my mother told me that she didnt know who my father was because she was raped. But there is a name on my birth cirtificate that my mother says is just an old friend who was nice and put his name on for me and I cant find that person anywhere then my mother told me last year when she lived in my house that my father was a nice guy and she only remembered his first name. how did he go from being a rapist to a nice guy who would never hurt her. She even went the extra mile to tell me that he was "afraid" when they had sex because he wanted to make sure she wanted it. How do I tell her that I know that she has been lying to me? How do I get her to tell me the truth? Why do you think she is lying? Why doesnt she think tha...

question about potential abuse from my mom Posted Monday July 11 2011, 10:28 pm
hey guys! ok so yesterday i hit my sister cuz she was pissin me off (im 13 and shes almost 12) so my mom screamed really loud 4 us 2 come dowstairs. and from what i remember, (my mind has accumulated a habit of forgetting the nasty things my mom says and does 2 me. its actually a good thing so that way im not so sad) my mom told us 2 sit down and she started tellingmy sister and i how it was all our fault and then she went on to start criticizing us us like she always does. so i looked @ the ground and rolled my eyes thinking and hoping she did not see. but she did. before i could process what was happening, my body had instinctively curled up into a tight ball. as my mother was screaming and hitting and pulling my hair so hard i was posit...

Foreign parenting -- were my parents justified in their anger? Posted Monday July 11 2011, 3:06 am
Hi guys! I'm having a little bit of trouble with my family right now, and I don't know what to do. This will be a bit long...sorry.
I'm 20 years old and in college, and my parents are control freaks over me. They already picked my MAJOR (I can't change it even though I hate it, or they won't pay for college) and every time I come home, I have a curfew of midnight. This is understandable since it's their house, but it's just annoying because I have an apartment an hour away where I have FREEDOM. But, they are used to their strict style of being raised and think that I've become a monster with too much freedom. This is how all my cousins are treated as well.
For the past couple of days, they have been giving me a...

Do I have the right to be angry? Posted Saturday July 9 2011, 8:25 pm
18/f
I left my laptop at home for a whole day because I was at my boyfriend's house. Me & my sister sometimes changes each other's desktop backgrounds to something funny as a joke. But this time, I had a problem with her changing my desktop background. 1) Because my desktop background was a slideshow of multiple pictures I literally put together by myself for hours. 2) she got on my computer without my permission and she had her own. When I saw it, I was a bit angry, but I still stayed calm thinking that my photos were still on my computer.
Later I was looking for the folder where I had my photos, and all of my albums were gone... Besides some particular photos. So I started freaking out, because I worked r...

My parents never listen, they only yell! Posted Tuesday July 5 2011, 1:04 am
anytime anything happens in our family, my sister and I get yelled at. Our parents are always telling us we are disrespectfull when all we EVER do is talk to them in respectfull tones and we NEVEr say anything rude! all they do is mimic us with rude tones or scream at us for no reason. Today i found out my dad smokes from my best friends father, when i ask him about it he yells at me saying to stay out of his f****ng life or im grounded, now im in myroom because my father smokes, he also had the decency to tell Me that my life is messed up. He constantly puts us down and tells us we are all basically crap and mean nothing to him, but then whenever anything comes down on him he calls us disrespectufl and threatens us. is this just the way al...

A living wrek Posted Monday July 4 2011, 10:01 am
My home life isn't as bad as most, ya, I'm fed, clothed, loved, but here's the thing. My mom is kinda bipolar so she gets mad and kinda violent sometimes. Not like she's gonna hurt me but she may throw things and break down and cry. My step dad is always asleep science he works at night and sometimes does double shifts. I dont feel like his family and I kinda don't want to be. My half sisters hate me but there easily delt with by tv or candy. So my question is why am I so bad? I hang out with not so god people, lie, sneak, do things I shouldn't, and write horrific things both sexual and non. Is it genetic? My bio dad was a reckless guy who delt drugs and drunk so could it be a mix of my moms bipolar and my bio dads bad personality or WHAT????????

My daddies missing!!!!!! Posted Monday July 4 2011, 8:54 am
Ok, well this is kida a long story but I'll make it quick. 14 years ago my biological father screwed my mom and made her pregnant with me. he called when I was two to make sure he wouldn't have to pay child support (which btw kinda stings a little) so I just wanna know how a 14 year old girl can find her dad when all she knows is: he lived somewhere in Indiana around 1996 1995, he has curly brown hair, he got his license taken away at 17 for driving under the influence, and his name is Michael Spalding? My mom doesn't want me to even think about his let alone try and find him, so I'm doing it secretly and I have no money so I need a very cheap way. No one in my family had ever seen my dad and didn't know my mom was dating him until she got ...

My mother's husband has GOT to GO! Posted Friday July 1 2011, 3:33 am
f/17
My mom is a hard working woman and she's already in her mid-fifties. She's also got a ton of health problems and my sister has severe depression, so my mom is always stressed and worried about things. She pays ALL of our bills and she cleans the entire house, she makes the food. And my father does nothing about it. He just lays around the house or goes to work, saves his money so he can spend it on himself, and then he talks crap about my mom to my little sister and I. It's outrageous!! They've been married for almost nineteen years! I mean, my father is Mexican and he never learned English, so he's a bit hindered in some places, but he could at least help pay the bills, even so, he doesn't! He told my sister that he's s...
