work problem/stress!!

Posted Saturday January 26 2013, 1:29 pm

Well, today at work (I work at the local vets doing receptionist work) and a farmer called up for some medicines to be put up and set out in the locked box outside, so that he could come pick them up at a later time. After he told me what he wanted, he hung up and I went to find them, only I couldn't find what he wanted exactly. None of the medicines matched! So I took what I though the closest match was (because a lot of farmers get the names wrong, so this is what we usually do). And when I was checking it out to put into his account, one of the medicines was quite expensive. But I put it through anyways. And now I'm at home, I'm worried that I have given him the wrong one. I've only had this job for a short while, and I am sitting my GCS...

buying a home with bad credit

Posted Thursday January 17 2013, 8:24 am

Hello, me and my girlfriend are both 20 years old. We are possibly pregnant and currently live with our parents. We are looking to get a place for us to live and start a family. We both have well standing jobs and would have no problem paying a monthly mortage. The only problem both of us have so so credit. We both have credit cards at the limit because of where we live now with our parents we need to help out and spend alot of money. We also have no one in our family that could co-sign with credit. We would probably have a down payment problem to its hard for us to save when we are paying for our familes bills right now. our city has a program that matches down payments and pays closing costs for new home buyers they match the down payment ...

Getting rid of a financed car

Posted Sunday January 6 2013, 5:34 pm

I owe $11,246.34 on a 2010 Chevrolet HHR LT with 47500 miles on it. I'm looking to get rid of it and get something cheaper, so I posted an ad on Craigslist. A man contacted me saying that he'd like to set something up where he takes over the payments. He specifically said that he didn't want to do it through the dealership because he didn't want ownership to be transferred right away. Said something about how he just financed a new Corvette. He did mention documents and getting things notarized and everything, but I'm still a little suspicious of why he would go through all that. Where should I go from here?

Taxes: How do deductions work, exactly?

Posted Friday December 21 2012, 8:36 am

I know alot of parents claim there children and get big tax returns I'm wondering how it works? I have my child full time and wasn't able to work if I only made $4000 and then collected unemployment. I know unemployment doesn't count as earned income so would I qualify for all of the child tax credits ? It says online you can't make more than $40,000 and your single claiming a child but is there and amount you have to make I couldn't find anything ? Also my son only sees his father on Sundays because of drugs I filed for child support but haven't received a payment if he files his taxes would my son get his tax return ? Could he claim my son on his taxes if he doesn't live with him? Thank you !

Financially Supporting Myself

Posted Saturday December 8 2012, 5:34 am

Lately I have been struggling with achieving to financially support myself. I aspire to live on my own or with roommate in a rented apartment. I haven't yet got a job. I applied somewhere where I would make a decent amount to cover expenses but I haven't heard back from them. I believe my resume was good with my credentials. Although I think since I haven't received word from the employer, they must have overlooked me. What should I do to win them over if there's anything? I feel my anxiety kicking in and I feel like giving up all hope. I'm going to apply to some more jobs but I have doubt that a minimum wage job will cover finances. Rent around here can be up to $600 a month. Split in two, $300. All I have is a high school diploma and three past jobs. Any advice?

Left work, am I entitled to a profit share contribution?

Posted Friday November 23 2012, 7:36 pm

My nephew had been with a company for the last 5 years and was vested in both the companies 401k plan and profit share plan. (100%) He was let go in February of 2011. The profit share plan paid out to the employees two months later in April 2011 for the employees 2010 profit share contribution. My nephew worked all of 2010, but did not get the profit share contribution for 2010 because it was paid out after he was let go, April 2011. Should he of gotten his contribution, since he worked all of 2010?

Pre-Paid Funerals

Posted Sunday September 23 2012, 10:47 pm

How do you set up a pre-paid funeral? I don't want my family to have to deal with this when I pass away. Who do I talk to to do this? I am afraid that if I did it with the local funeral home and then I passwed away on a trip it wouldn't count and they would still have to pay for my burial. How does this work?

Selling all my games

Posted Friday August 31 2012, 12:48 pm

I've been losing interest in video games so I want to sell ALL of them. Where and what way would be the best to sell them? I don't wanna get ripped off. But I need atleast $300. I have a 120gb ps3 slim, about 9 ps3 games and 3 ps2 games. I'm not looking to sell online, I'll have to deal with shipping & possibly no buyers - I need the $300 for a used item that someone else can buy at any second. It's a really good deal so I don't wanna wait last minute and have them tell me it's sold already.

I need immediate money. I don't want to get screwed over.

Posted Thursday August 30 2012, 5:12 pm

I desperately need $500 by September 8. I have applied for multiple loans at Banks and Credit Unions and I don't qualify for them.

I can't afford the quick loan places cuz their interest is too high and Ive heard horror stories about how they rip you off.

I have already sold and pawned everything I can :'( That was really hard but I am desperate.

I don't have a car to sell.

What should I do?

I do have awesome credit and could probably qualify for a credit card. But I know nothing about them. What's the best and safest credit card? Where do I go to get one? Are their specific qualifications? And is there a way to get a safe one without going to a bank or cred...

In debt, in school and want to buy a home and live comfortably!

Posted Thursday June 28 2012, 3:10 pm

Hello, I am 22 and will be attending my last year of school an hopefully get my social work diploma. So far there have been some budget cuts to the social services sector in Ontario (Canada) and I am concerned about the quality of work I will be able to get when I graduate. I anticipate I will be about 4000 in debt when I finish school, as I have saved all my life and have been able to pay for most of everything myself (school, braces, books, clothes etc). My family was never really financially "comfortable" and so I have never been the spoiled child. I have been dating someone for 6 yrs and he too comes from a similar background and not financially comfortable. I love to go out and do things with him (travel, camp, shows etc) but...
