my novel Posted Tuesday August 19 2008, 1:13 am
this is a short part of my novel that i would like some feedback on. like i'm just wondering, does it make sense?here it is :
The next thing she knew, she was so close to him she could smell his Armani Acqua Di Gio cologne. Scott’s hands were holding her hips, and she was moving her hips into his. His head was over her shoulder and their cheeks were touching. She loved being this close to him, and decided she wanted to stay like this forever. Britney Spears’ ‘Break the Ice’ was playing as she placed her hands on top of his and they linked fingers.
“Ooh, looks like we’re alone now,” the lyrics played, but she could only wish they were really alone. She turned her head towards his so their faces were only an inch ...

NO Relesing at our school?! Posted Monday August 18 2008, 8:44 am
I am 14, I want to go to another school.
I've been at my school for all my life, and it is HORRIBLE.
We have barely any sports, no foriegn languages, and rude teachers.
(not to mention the students are horribly mean and cruel)
-true story: A kid who broke his leg, was walking down the hallway, and the other kids started kicking his leg. Then, the other children didnt do a thing about it!-
Anyway, back to the subject.
I REALLY want to change schools, along with a friend of mine, however, the school will not release us. It wont. They said: "You need to try the new program and 3 course schedule."
Which, for 1 is going to mess us up.
And besides that, i DO...

Balance between academics and athletics Posted Saturday August 16 2008, 12:59 am
Hi all :]
Well I'm about to be a junior and I play volleyball and want to be involved in other extracurricular activites as well. In the midst of that, I also have AP classes and am preparing for the SATs and AP tests in spring 2009. I was just wondering if anyone has anyone advice for me on how I can balance my schoolwork with my other hectic activites and still manage to acheive straight A's, a great SAT score, and 5s on all of my AP tests. I'm trying to read up before the school year starts so I'll be prepared-any other advice?

Communication media changing our language? Posted Wednesday August 13 2008, 7:05 pm
For my summer reading, our essay question is:
Two of the most important modern influences on our language have been the growth of science and communication technology. Why do you suppose science and communication media have been so influential in causing changes in our language? What do you suppose is the nature of those changes?
I really don't know what to say, except that the Internet is causing slang, but that's not completely the whole language. Any help? Thanks!!

Scared for school tomorrow Posted Wednesday August 13 2008, 3:17 pm
Hey! So tomorrow is the 1st day of school and I'm going to be a sophomore. Now, I know I shouldn't be that scared because last year was the 1st year of high school. Trust me I was freaking out last year also. I'm going to the same school and all, but every year since 7th grade(middle school) I have freaked out about school. And it's basically about the classes. I get soooooo scared about how hard the classes are going to be, because some of my friends took them last year and they say the teachers are mean, and the homework and class is hard. And now every year, like I said since middle school, I have been freaking out. I'm a super perfectionest(??). Everything with me has to be "perfect" or else I freak out. I worry that if I don'...

This question if for anyone that has ever read Like Water for Chocolate. I have to write an essay on this, and i had no trouble reading the book but for some reason i'm having trouble coming up with the theme. I've never really read a book like this before, not really my type, but i had to for AP English. Now we need to write how the theme is portrayed in a death scene and there is just so many death scenes i figured i'd come up with the most important theme first then pick a death scene. Yet..i just can't think of a good theme, or atleast put it into good words. I'm not asking for someone to write my essay i'm just looking for guidance so please help!

juniorr year Posted Monday August 11 2008, 8:50 pm
hey,
i just started my juniorr year, this is my second week in. i feel like i failed myself in the past two years of highschool. i didn't do my best in school, and i lazed off alot and got too stressed over simple/boring work and i had one really bad teacher. i think my gpa is like a 2.6, yeah, its that bad and im a honors student. freshmen year i got a D and C and the rest Bs i think, that year was my worst, i never made grades that low before, and i was glad i made them because i barely passed the class, like in geometry my end of course test saved me [worst teacher ever], and in freshmen literature i never got papers signed in time so that brought my grade down even if i made all As on assignments. okay now in sophmore year, i got...

succeeding Posted Monday August 11 2008, 4:39 pm
I'm going into my junior year this fall, and I'm nervous. I heard it's one of the most important, yet the most hard year in high school.
I'm also going to be getting my permit AND my job in October. I need a job simply because I'm BROKE.
I need study tips, any tips for balancing time, and any other advice for my junior year.
Also, should I be looking into college? I want to be a vet, so should I also be doing anything else? (Volunteering, etc.)

5 Subject Notebook Posted Monday August 11 2008, 4:34 pm
Okay so I've already asked a question regarding organization for school. I went to Staple's and I bought 2 5-Subject notebooks and a binder for math.
I was thinking about using 1 of the 5subject notebooks for Chemistry and English, and then the other for History and French, but I'm not sure how to split it up. Any ideas?

Not smart, not good enough? Posted Monday August 11 2008, 1:22 pm
14/F
Okay, so I don't want to go to my old school anymore. The teachers don't teach me anything, they just yell at me for asking questions. Well, I found this new school my friend is going to. She said they teach you better there and so have several other people I asked. It's a good school in other words. Well, first my old school has to release me. I have an appointment to register at this new school on Monday August 18th. I ALSO have a dentist appointment. Well, the counsler from my old school isn't going to be in until the 18th, so I have to ask to be released on the 18th. All these things happen on the 18th and my mom started yelling at me, telling me I'm a spoiled brat and things, but I don't get it! I'm asking for a bet...
