Environmental Science?

Posted Sunday November 27 2005, 9:30 pm

I'm really interested in environmental science, especially anything to do with Oceanography. Except one tiny little problem: I live in Wisconsin. Now that's cool, because I can still study around the Great Lakes or work on other environmental aspects, but I'm a bit turned off by the job opportunities. Everyone I hear of who has a degree in some related field ends up working for the DNR or Water Resource Management. I don't want to do that. I really want to be involved in new research, in the purely scientific aspect of it. Does anyone know any career opportunities in the Environmental Science or Oceanographic fields that are NOT part of some government-run organization? Thanks in advance.

Hi. I'm looking for a job. A summer job or maybe an after school job. I'm 14 and i've looked in papers for babysitting jobs or someone who would at least give me one. I've asked neighbors if they would give me one. I guess you could say I'm really anxious to get one. I live in Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania and there aren't many jobs who would want 14 year olds as there employees. But if any one has any information on helping me find one, I would really appreciate it.

Sincerly,

Trying to Become a PAID Advice Columnist

Posted Wednesday November 2 2005, 8:06 pm

I LOVE giving advice and I know you have to crawl before you can walk but I was wondering if anyone knows how I can get picked up by either a few magazines, newspapers or radio shows in order to do advice. I have a Masters in Clinical Psychology and have vast experieince in counseling and giving advice. I also have a book in the works and is being critiqued as we speak. I had a manager and we were putting together a demo wth a known radio d.j. but he got "other" ideas and wanted me to show him how much I really wanted to do the radio show and long story short, we parted weays. I have pictures (I am a former model) and I would LOVE to post them here on my site but they are too large to upload. ANY leads would be helpful.

Thanks!

British Nanny in America?

Posted Saturday October 29 2005, 7:43 pm

Hello!
I am a British nanny. I've always wanted to go to America, but I can't afford it. However, I have just thought - how about I worked over there as a nanny?! (I would live-in)
It may sound crazy, but I am looking for a bit of help now. Does anyone know of any kind of nanny or job agencies that would make it safe and reassure both me and the parents that both parties are reliable?
If you are American (and had (a) child/ren), would you hire a British nanny? (Assuming, of course, you were assured of her reliability et cetera)
Also, I would have no clue where to go in America. I want somewhere alive, but not excessively BUSY - not like New York! I live in the middle of three fields of sheep, I don't want too muc...

Does this sound convincing?

Posted Sunday October 16 2005, 12:52 pm

I'm entering a modeling search. I need some opinion, does this paper sound convicing? Tell me if its good or bad or what its missing or what it needs please.

Why should I be a Seventeen Reader Model? There are so many reasons but I’ll tell a few. Well, let me just introduce myself before I begin.
My name is Rashidat but everyone calls me Rashida. I recently turned 13. I’m in the 8th grade at the Tenney Grammar School in Methuen. I am African American and half Nigerian. I love playing basketball, expressing my self in creative ways like poetry and being the wild and crazy me! I think I should be the Seventeen Reader Model because I have a beautiful and unique look, I’d be a fabulous role model to people of all a...

Question For A Retail Store Manager

Posted Friday October 14 2005, 12:57 am

I am a seventeen year old student. I have had my resume done professionally but I don't have any retail experience (just volunteering, interning et cetera).
I was just wondering what you look for in an applicant? Being extremely honest. What factors do you consider more: experience/looks/personality/et cetera?
If you aren't a manager, your feedback is also appreciated but please indicate that you aren't in your apply.
Thanks <3

New Job Worries

Posted Tuesday October 11 2005, 10:47 pm

I just started a new job today in the clothing department of a superstore.

The store hasnt opened yet so we were cleaning the diplay tables for the first couple hours which was fine, but then my boss had us folding clothes onto the tables. She told me TWICE that I wasn't folding them neatly enough even though I was trying my best. I was working with two other girls and she was being harder on me than the other two and I'm not sure why. I was so stressed out about it that when I got home I wanted to throw up and I went staight to bed.

My next shift is tomorrow and I really want to impress her.

Does anyone have any advice?
