Digital Camera

Posted Tuesday February 28 2006, 10:02 pm

Well, I am really wanting a digital camera these days. I know they are pretty pricey also. I want one that has the little screen in the back so you can look at the picture you took.
How much are digital camera's in range? And another thing, I am about 13 and I really want to buy my own because I know my mom can't buy me one.
What would be a good job for me to get some money for that? Babysitting is my biggest option right now. How many times do you think I would have to babysit if I ask for 6-11$ an hour?

Thank you so much for the help!

Ohk i have a job. And the problem is i should be getting 20 hours a school week. And 40 hours on a break. Well on a regular week i only get 8 and half hours and on breaks i only get 15 hours.

Its been like this since December. Its really aggravating me because a girl the same age as me is getting more hours then me like 5 hours more.

Im thinking about searching for a new job. Because i need the hours and the money. Would it be a good idea to go out and look for a new job?

Dont tell me that i should start getting more hours soon i highly doubt it.

I work really hard at the job i have now. The girl my age hates working and complains more then anything in the world. I dont get it. ...

careers having to do with mental illness's

Posted Wednesday February 15 2006, 7:27 pm

Well I'm a high school student trying to answer that big question, "What do I want to do with the rest of my life." This past year I've really become interested in mental illness's and how your brain works. I'd like to go into a career with something to do with helping people with mental illness's such as skitzophrenia(spelling?) anyways, anyone out there who has some career advice for me I'd love to hear from you. And if you could also include how you go to where you were (college/university, etc) that would be awesome.

After What I Did...

Posted Saturday January 28 2006, 9:48 pm

Hey... I'm 15... recently I shoplifted and was caught. I was told it wasn't concidered a "felony" because it wasn't over $400. It would go on my record as pety theft and my mom would be fined. ...Well when I'm 16 I want to get a job but... is it going to be difficult (or harder) with pety theft on my record? I was told that when I'm 18 I can 'seal my record'. For now... is the pety theft thing going to be looked at when I apply for a job? Has anybody ever been caught shoplifting? if you have, does it make it harder to find a job? or some jobs like wokring in a mall or department store or any store? Well thanks for your time in reading this.

1) What jobs can I find at 15?? (Please be specific)
2) How much money SHOULD I get? Like, minimum wage? How much is that suppose to be? And what do I do if it isn't the minimum?

A New Opportunity

Posted Tuesday January 24 2006, 12:18 pm

Right now I have a decent paying job that I don't hate. I like most the people I work with and my boss. I'm in a position of power so I have a lot of control which is always good. However, I live an hour away from work. That's a lot of driving and a lot of money going to the car. I want a job closer to home and I have a job interview this week at a place in the town I live in. My problem is, the phone receptionist here is going to have to have her tonsils removed and won't be able to speak for awhile. We are the only people in the office that work full time and the only other phone person is in on Mondays and Tuesdays. I'll be needed here but I don't know when she's actually going to get them removed, need off work, etc. If I do fi...

I was working at Old Navy for the past few months as a seasonal hire and they recently laid off all the new hires because we did pretty badly during our Christmas season. They told us that we would always be welcome back in the spring though but I don't really want to work there anymore.
1. I know this is a bad time for job searches but should I try looking for a new job anyway?
2. Before Old Navy, I only had volunteer experience. Would a store manager take a closer look at my resume because of my Old Navy experience? Do Old Navy employees have a particular reputation that might cause store managers to prefer them or look down on them?
3. Do you think a few months Old Navy experience is enough to work at specialty stores like American Eagle or Espirit?
