What to Do For Dyslexia

What would you do if you just found out that your son had dyslexia? I don't even know where to begin handling this disorder. Will he have to go to a special school? Does he need some kind of tutor? How will I be able to help him with this?

Everyone at school makes fun of me,they take my seat at lunch and tell me to sit some were else.

I got stuck with the name 'Nadia'
I'm not normal
I'm not normal looking
I sound weird
Everyone makes fun of me
I have no one to rely on

Getting off track

I have been a straight A student up until now. Lately i have been getting off track and I'm not sure why. My grades are suffering. I am not sure what to do to get back on track and fix my grades. Any advice?

I've been a straight A student all my life but have gotten Bs on my social studies report card 3 times. People all talk about my grades and rub it in my face that i got a single B. People have said that I'm a dumb wast of air. Although I'm smart and get good grades most of the time, I'm made fun of for 89s in social studies. I pay attention in class and study but I cant get an A. Help?

I want to go to boarding school in another country

I'm a 14 year old Indian girl. I'm currently in the 9th grade in a school in Delhi but I really want to go to boarding school abroad. I'm not a very distinguishable student but I play the violin at a grade 3 level. My parents cannot afford to send me to a boarding school abroad so I will need some kind of financial aid. Are there any ways to do this and how can I make myself a stronger candidate?

I'm from newyork. I got dreadlocks last year and they've been great, but my little sister gave me lice so I have to either cut my hair or comb them out, but it takes weeks. I've missed a lot of school already and my junior year is pretty much down the drain already. would I be able to finish my junior year online and do my senior year in school? Or should I just give up? I've tried everything but life just seems to keep throwing things at me, like somethings trying to tell me something, to give up and start my life. I know how hard it is to live without a highschool diploma but I don't see how to fix my school career, along with dealing with my hair.

My undergraduate tutorial is due on April 29th, 2015. Right now I am in the process of writing it. I graduate in two semesters and need to hand in my final thesis in order to graduate with an honors degree.
Although I am not as far as I would like to be, I am attempting to come up with ideas as to what I could write about for my thesis. I have formulated an idea and would like to know what others think about this.

The semester started two months ago but there was this one class that just started in the middle of the semester. It was suppose to be my first day in it and I was feeling very sick since the night before. I thought it was nothing and was going to sleep it out. I would feel better tomorrow and go to school. The next morning, I woke up and could barely move. I got out of bed and felt my heart beating really hard, my ears were buzzing, and I temporary blacked put. I kept thinking I can sleep it out. As the day went, it got worse. I quickly emailed my teachers and told them I'm sorry. I was sick and will miss their classes since I was going to the ER. so i got a detention for mucking around in the kitchen at school and I dont know how to tell my parents. i was given a detention slip and one of them has to sign it but i don't know how to give it to them without them getting really mad or shouting at me, because i've been really good all year. I have this teacher who screams like 30 times a day and scares the heck out of my whole class and were all scaered 2 talk 2 her. I dont know what to do. Also my teacher is so mean! I didn't do so good on my report card this semester. I know I am really smart and if I just study I could be getting straight A's. But honestly studying is such a drag! I can't do it for anything. If anyone has any ideas of how I can make studying fun, then I would love that! Thank you!

I am a girl in 8th grade and I currently go to a private catholic school. It is my first year at a private school because I've gone to public school all of my life but last year all of my friends turned on me so i decided to change schools. Now, its time to decide about highschool and I applied (and got accepted in) to a private catholic highschool which everyone who goes there says they love but I play hockey, field hockey, and lacrosse, and they only have lacrosse at the school and their sports aren't that good. But the public highschool in my town, which my siblings go to, is the best highschool for sports in the state. But if I go to that highschool I have to deal with all the people that turned on me last year and I dont know if I want...

so i just started high school and it has been so horrible. i know everyone has always said freshmen year is always bad. but i know that me being a freshmen isn't the problem. it's the school that i hate so much. the teachers don't know how to teach at all and they put me through so much more pressure that i should be put in. i already have to go through so much and school doesn't help. i have to deal with actually trying to have friends instead of crying most of the time of my loneliness. i have to put up with a 7 people family in only a 2 bedroom apt. and i have to put up with all the fighting. school is becoming a problem for me, getting low grades and all. i have a job but since im only 15 they said the least they can do is schedule me o...

Hi! So im 13 and I'm always scared of parent teacher school conferences. When I went in another school, everytime I was there the teachers said really good things about me but after I moved there have been some changes. My first conference went really well, but the second was horrible. My mom expects me to be the best in the class and she always asks the teacher. The teachers hate me, and sometimes I answer them back and then they get mad. So last time I went there they sad my atitude is really bad and I laugh at teachers, which is something I don't. And my parents take the stuff I care about from me if I do something wrong, they take like my phone and even cloths. So Can Anynone pleas help?

Should I switch from private high school to a public one?

I have been in private schools my whole life this year is my first year of high school. I basically have no friends besides a few from my middle school. I have no social life aside from them really. My dad thinks I'm depressed here and asked if I wanted to switch schools for 10th grade. I don't know what to do I don't know if I could fit in a public school or not.I also don't know if it be a good idea switching into a new school after freshmen year?

I went to college, finished two semesters, took a semester off. I have been at home this entire time. I have started looking at colleges again. I didn't think I would go back. And lately, college just seems like a task to get away from home. I'm too interested in a number of things like music, art, video games, and writing. I'm not exactly sure what direction to steer my life in. Any advice?
