My guinea pig

Posted Sunday December 17 2006, 11:33 am

I have 2 guinea pigs; One male (now 1yr plus) and one female (now 10mths). We've put them tgt for about 3 mths already but the female doesn't seem to be pregnant at all. I've seen the male humping her. Sometimes the female doesnt move while humping but most of the time she keeps jumping up and running away whenever the male goes near her butt cos she's rather jumpy bout people touching her butt.

The female guinea has most of the signs of pregnancy such as salivating a lot, craving for lots of fresh greens but then she has been like that even before mating with the male. Her stomach doesn't seem rounder or bigger although she kinda looks fatter around her butt.

1) Can someone tell me if she's really pregnant a...

My dog is old...

Posted Thursday December 14 2006, 5:16 am

I don't know why I've suddenly thought of this, but here it goes. My dog, Lucky, is really old.. around 16 or 17. He's a small dog, and is doing well for his age, but he is really old and getting slow. It started occuring to all of us that he's going to die pretty soon, probably within a year. I don't know how I'm going to react when that happens, but as they say, that's life.
My question is, if any of you have had a dog die naturally, or by being put to sleep, who took care of the remains? I know it's a crazy question, but does the vet have someone take on that responsibility?

why is my cat doing this??

Posted Saturday December 9 2006, 11:09 am

I love my cat a lot. I spoil her. I spend so much money on her, including on food, treats, toys, and little cat furniture (like beds and such). But almost every time I feed my cat food, she eats a little of it, then starts kicking the bowl with her front paw, and scratching the carpet, trying to cover up the bowl (even trying to put stuff in it like a sock that was next to it, or her toys). I have no idea why she is doing this! I sometimes tried to stop her, but in a way I also think she has a good reason for doing it.. so I am not sure if I should anyway. What is my cat doing?? And what should I do?? Thanks in advance!

URGENT FISH QUESTION! Can I save my 'spinning' fish?! Please

Posted Tuesday December 5 2006, 2:08 am

Sorry if my question isn't exactly clear, but I'm in a hurry! I need to know if I can save my fish's life!

My sister bought an aquarium in March, and started buying her fish, etc. Her Black Mollies had babies, and she gave me four when they were medium sized, and I put them into their own tank. Two died awhile ago, and now I have two left. One was much larger than the other, and no matter how much I fed them, the larger one kept trying to attack the smaller one. I seperated them, and they seemed to be fine (I know it's a bad idea to keep fish alone, but that was my only option), but tonight the smaller one started acting up. It's swimming in circles, and I don't mean it's chasing it's tail - It's tumbling, doing 360s in the w...

West highland terriors [westies]

Posted Monday December 4 2006, 4:15 pm

I want to get another westie. I have a little girl dog, right now, who is 2. I'm not trying to replace her or anything, but I just want one for christmas, & I think my parents will get me one. I would get a little boy dog..the only thing I'm worried about, is the girl dog that i have now, will get jealous of the new one. I mean, shes soooooo spoiled. Like for christmas.. i spent already 200 dollars, on her. & im not done yet. sooo yeahhh. & she know shes like the cutest little thing in the world too.

So, anyways.. I'm wondering, how she will get along with the new dog [which will also be a westie] & stuff like that...
or any experience you have with having 2 westies?

I don't want him ever to die.

Posted Saturday December 2 2006, 9:35 pm

I really love my dog Scooter. He is my everything. I've had him since before 1st grade, and he is 10 years old. My stepsister got a stupid border collie that ruins Scooter's face and his toys, and gets on my nerves. Scooter has been through alot. He had neutering problems, got hit by a car, had to have lumps removed from his body, alot for a poor little Shih Tzu dog. I'm afraid of what might happen when he dies. Everyone calls him old, and it pisses me off. I don't want him to die, but he's been around a long time. Then I'd be stuck with dumbass Riley. He is my life, and my everything. I wouldn't be able to function without him. I love him too much. He is my first pet that I actually remember. :/

Choosing a breed

Posted Saturday November 25 2006, 10:15 am

Hello,

Recently, I have been searching for a dog. I definitley want to go to a breeder or an animal shelter. My question: I do not know what breed to get. I am gone for about six hours a day, so I need a dog that can be alone for some time. I plan on giving it extensive obedience training along with classes. I have a medium yard and when I get home I plan on exercising and spending time with it. I am leaning towards a medium sized dog. It is also important that it does not have a long coat, does not shed that much, because I really don't think I can spend that much time grooming it. (I am prepared to do it once a week.) Do any dog owners or dog lovers have any suggestions of breeds? Thanks!
