I just finished watching the Exorcist. Is this stuff real? Has this ever happened? I know back in Jesus' time it happened because he performed an exorcisms, as it says in the bible. But does or has this happened lately or around the 60s-70s? I have read many things and there are some stories of exorcisms being performed, but the weird thing is when I watched this movie I don't see how all those things can actually happen to someone innocent whom ingaged in the Ouija board a few times, how does it happen? Im so lost and scared as well.

Is sex wrong? A question for the religious

Posted Sunday October 2 2005, 10:55 pm

First of all, let me clear the air. Im a sexually active 20 year old, Ive never been married, and I personally see nothing wrong with premarital sex, or sex in general.

But.

I have many friends who are Christian or Catholic, and they are (in my opinion) anywhere from sexually repressed at best, to afraid of and disgusted by sex at worst.

I cant really talk to most of them about it, simply because its a very uncomfortable subject. So I pose the question to the masses. For those of you who are religious, what are your views on sex, and why?

Thought provoking answers might get my screen name for further discussion, if you like. Any answers that sound something like

Chastity

Posted Sunday October 2 2005, 7:32 am

Hi, I'm 16/f and I was raised a Catholic. A really close friend of mine is like.. TOTALLY religious. He's completely devout to the point where he considered being a priest. lol, anyway.. he told me to read this chastity booklet called "pure love" a while ago (www.pureloveclub.com is the website for it) which I did. I was shocked at reading it. Apparently, not even french-kissing should be done outside marriage. I find this ridiculous in a way, and wonder whether any of this has a biblical basis.

My questions are: Should I tell my friend I read the booklet and give my opinions on chastity? Would it damage our friendship?

Secondly, and more importantly, is chastity really necessary? Is there anywhere t...

Help

God says that he refuses to prove himself, because that would deny faith, and without faith he is nothing, so if someone were to find proof, then by gods own reasoning he couldnt exist-is this plausible

Christian opinions, please!

Posted Tuesday September 27 2005, 7:19 pm

I am a Christian who doesn't go to church. I pray every night and believe that Jesus died for our sins and that God exists.
My question is that why do so many other Christians put down other ones that don't go to church? I have a relationship with God, too! Thanks.

does using the pendulum to tell the future work?

Posted Saturday September 24 2005, 3:21 pm

Does anyone know if the pendulum actually works? I just bought a pendulum workbook and kit at the bookstore.
I hold the pendulum over a board and ask it questions. It either answers yes or no by swinging in different directions.

What are good ways to test the pendulum? Someone told me to get a deck of playing cards and then ask whether the card was black or red.

It's not dangerous like the ouija board, is it?

Meaning

Posted Saturday September 17 2005, 12:27 am

If God gives humanity purpose and meaning, what gives God purpose and meaning?

Is God meaningless and purposeless?! If so, wouldn't that mean that humans are just meaningless and purposeless, and that their "meaning" and "purpose" given by God is purely arbitrary?

Atheists

Posted Tuesday September 13 2005, 8:52 pm

Why do atheists have a problem with Christian's trying to spread their religon? They seem to always get so defensive and mean. It really bugs me because they can't have an open mind to what someone else says without flipping out. Like Christian religon says "help those who don't believe in God" or something, and the atheists just FLIP out. I've been open minded to many atheists I know and listen to what they say about it calmly without saying their opinions are dumb, but then when I mention my relgion, they say it's so stupid and get mad at me for talking about it.

Anyway, to sum it all up, you basically just need to read the first sentence.

Mormons

Posted Tuesday September 13 2005, 7:44 pm

Okay, you probably already know this, but my best friend in the whole world is Mormon. She believes she's a Christian, but I know that Mormons are not. I also know a lot of her friends too. I am worried about them. I want to be able to tell them what is wrong with it, but I don't want to be like "I have been your friend for a whole year and I love you and by the way, you are going to hell." Cuz that would really suck. I recently made a comment on someone's site saying that I believed Mormonism to be non-Christian, as did the owner of the site. My friend has seen it, and now she wants to know what I am talking about. I really want to save my friend, but she is a strong mormon with a strong mormon background, and I don't know...

Friend Doesn't Believe in God

Posted Sunday September 11 2005, 6:50 pm

I have a friend, well he's actually a sisters friend, but I would also consider him my friend and I'm sure he would do the same. He's in 9th grade and I'm in 10th. One day while we were out we were on the topic of God and he said he didnt believe in God. He says he thinks Jesus existed but that he was just a normal guy. He said if God existed then he wouldn't have diabetes.

Now I want to educate him about God and help him accept him into his life. I feel it is my duty as a Christian to guide him to a better life with God, because you are supposed to help the people who don't believe. He is a really sweet boy, and I told him that I was going to teach him and he said "you can try but it won't happen" so if he said I c...
