Was I disruptive? Posted Wednesday January 27 2010, 12:55 am
17/f
So this morning, I sent my tutor an email asking whether we were going to have a tutoring session tomorrow. He replied telling me to be on standby, because he needed to check to see whether he was busy, and he would get back to me later on today.
Well, I waited around, and it's nighttime now, and he didn't get back to me, and I need to know really badly whether or not I'm going to see him tomorrow so I can plan out my day accordingly.
At 8:57pm, I gave him a ring on his cell phone and left a message.
Was that an okay thing for me to do? Or was it excessive and disruptive?

Not interested in him... Posted Saturday January 23 2010, 12:17 am
I went out last week with a friend and her boyfriend, and we met up with her boyfriend's friends... one of them liked me, but I was in no way attracted to him. I was having a good time, and we talked a lot. By the end of the night, I gave him my number (i'm new to the neighborhood), and told him that we can all hang out- to sort of hint that i was not interested in going out with him alone.
He called a few days later and left a message- he asked if I wanted to meet with him at a cafe. I really do not want to send him the wrong message. I called him back tonight and left a message telling him that I am busy tomorrow, but can meet up the next day for a little bit, and to either call/text me the address. I would not mind having...

Death of a classmate and the wake. Posted Sunday January 17 2010, 5:31 pm
a boy in my freshmen class took his life thursday night
since 7th grade i had known about him, and wished so badly to befriend him...over the summer transition from 8th-9th grade, me and my best friend watched videos of him and the music he made. i even liked him a little. he was just so attractive and talented and sweet.
I was in such shock friday when the teachers broke it to us. the entire day i was just shaking and i could not stop it. i just felt so cold. everything felt dreamlike and out of focus that day. im sure for a lot of other people it was the same.
i barely even knew him, but i always felt that there could have been a connection between us..we had a lot in common and we could have b...

tip Posted Sunday December 27 2009, 3:49 pm
There is a tattoo shop in town doing an anniversary special, any small tattoo for $35. I plan on getting something but I'm worried about under tipping. Should I do 15% of the special price or the price I think something that size would normally be?

brazillian wax Posted Friday December 25 2009, 8:36 pm
Hi so I want to get a brazillian wax and I read that you need to get them every 4-6 weeks but I want a personal opinion on if it was worth the money. Like how long was it actually until the hair started to grow back even like stubble. im just so sick of shaving and always worrying about if I need to be that day so all I wanna know is if theyre worth it and how long it takes for even the slightest stubble to appear. Thankss!!

My Tattoo Posted Saturday December 5 2009, 8:08 pm
Hi,
This isn't really a question for your column but I cannot find any other way to contact you.
Apparently I cannot paste a link as I originally wanted to, but you replied to a post that I believe was titled "tattoo:D". The rose tattoo you link to with the writing in the middle is MY BODY. That is MY tattoo and I never gave you permission to use it. I have deleted the deviantART account with which I originally posted the picture on to share with my fellow artistic community. Once I caught wind of my tattoo being spread around the internet like wild fire, I promptly deleted it and I have no idea how it keeps popping up. I would like to request that you remove my picture from any where that you have po...

Being Assertive Posted Wednesday December 2 2009, 6:45 pm
I am a naturally extremely passive person. I let people walk all over me and rarely stick up for myself. Having to say excuse me to someone even makes me nervous. I have no problem asserting myself to my friends. How can I be assertive? I don't really want to be aggressive either, which I can be towards my parents and a particular teacher. Furthermore, the thought of even asserting myself makes tears well up in my eyes a bit, so any advice on not bursting into tears when defending myself would be useful too!

Farting is Too Funny Posted Monday November 16 2009, 4:36 pm
Okay, I admit: I think farting is hilarious. I can't for the life of me figure out why, though. It's not just fart jokes either. Like the one about the blind guy who was sitting on the trolley complaining to the guy standing next to him that he was mumbling and his breath smelt horrible. I thought that I'd grow out of it eventually, but no... I still laugh when I fart or someone else farts. So... does anyone else think farting is the funniest thing that your body can do? It must be nature's very own comedy routine, right? You make gas and your sphincter turns that gas into a funny sound when you push it out. It must be an intentional evolutionary feature.

christmas present Posted Sunday November 8 2009, 1:16 am
Okay, well I have this teacher who's is just amazing. She was my teacher last year and she's my teacher again this year. Anyways, she is one of the few people who actually believe in me.
I know that Christmas is a long time from now, but it's more time to find something for her. My question is, what can I get her?
Here's some information about her:
She's from New York, she's an english teacher, she likes to travel, she's a grandmother and a mother, she's really funny, she's in her mid 60's, she loves anything extravagant, and she's a total hippie.
What can I get her as a christmas present? Please keep it cheap. I don't have much money to spend. Anything under 20 dollars would be nice.
Thanks in advance!!

This person who works at a supermarket is annoying me; please give advice. Posted Saturday September 26 2009, 5:39 pm
There is a huge grocery store where I shop and one of the kids who brings in baskets from the parking lot always gives me a contemptuous look. I walk with a limp and he is like that with people who are handicapped. I called about him last year and spoke with a district manager who assured me he would take care of the problem. When I called back, his attitude with me had changed and he acted like I was the culprit. I thought that was very odd. He said I had to face the kid and identify him face to face. I did not want to do that but I gave a complete description of him. A year later, he is still working there. What should I do?

What do Americans speak? I know that people from England speak English but I've always called what I spoke English. I'm in the United States though, not from England so I'm not English. Am I still considered to be English-speaking or is it referred to as something else? I'm confused

When did "pussy" become a "bad" word? Posted Wednesday June 3 2009, 2:14 am
I've seen some clips of movies from the 1930s and 1940s where "Pussy" is used like any other English word. At time, obviously used referring to a cat.
When did it become a vulgar word?
