The Lexus and the Olive Tree question

In the book "the Lexus and the Olive Tree", the author is talking about the "golden straitjacket". The reason I'm reading this book is for AP world history and we also have to answer questions. I know it probably sounds like I'm just some lazy kid wanting homework answers but honest to god, I wouldn't be asking if this wasn't my last resort. I've tried google, I've tried asking my friends and parents, and I asked my teacher about it but all he said was "go figure it out". These questions are due tomorrow and this is the only question I haven't answered :/ so yeah, the question is "Why is it called a "Golden Straightjacket"? so, don't get me wrong about the subject.. it's just that there's this new program for high school is that starting in junior year, only a couple of high school students can attend an actual college... and finish their high school there and graduate with their high school diploma and associates degree. i'm one of those students that got in, and i'm sorta second thinking it. because, i know it's a good opportunity, but i really miss my old high school, especially since my friends are still there and my boyfriend. i'm the type of person who likes to take my classes step by step, because that's how i do really well in school. and in college, everything is so different, i get more freedom and all.. but then it's super hard, ...

ok so. back in october me and my friend charlie were walkin back from ffa (future farmers of america) and we were joking around and we said i had a penis pump in my truck. it's not true like i said we were "joking" and now gay people like to spread it around school. ruining my life. and people keep sayin stuff about it. and it's not true. i' ignored it for a long time. but now it's getting on my nerves. what do i do???

breast cancer club

Hey, my names Jessica I'm 15 and I'm a sophmore in highschool. We have a lot of clubs, but I'm not intrested in any. I want to start one for Breast Cancer Awareness. Its basically to support people with breast cancer and to raise money for them. Does anyone have any ideas to raise money and to get people to join the club? Also, what do I tell the activities director so she can aprove of this ? Thank you in advance (:

Next month I'll be a sophomore in high school. During my Freshman year my G.P.A. was between a 3.2 and a 3.4. In elementary school, my average was always in the 90s. Can anyone give me ideas on how to get my average back up to where I'm used to?

Tips on getting good grades

I am looking to get good grades this year in school. Usually I am an A-B student but I'd like to try to make straight As this year in school. I was hoping that somebody has some tips for getting better grades, or maybe even a top 10 ways list to get straight As. Anything would help though, really.

(14/f) Well school is starting in like 3 days, and I just have this funny feeling in my stomach. I'm going to be a freshman, and actually, Friday is just orientation. I'm excited, but I'm also nervous/scared/dreading it. I'm just sad that I have to leave a bunch of friends behind. I have maybe one true friend that's going to the same school as me, but we only have one class together! She's the one I can talk to and go to anytime, for anything... It just sucks. Hi. I've been playing soccer since I was 7. I thought that it would be something I would still want play once I got to college but when I realized I didn't, I felt it was too late..Well now here I am, a sophomore in college and I'm stuck playing soccer. I have a full scholarship so that just makes it even harder. I don't want to dissapoint my parents but I feel like this is the time where I should be doing what I want to do. Isn't college about finding yourself? so my question is what should I do? At this rate I feel like I'll do anything to get out of playing soccer.

well...i have a twin sister and we do pretty much everything together. she helps me a lot when it comes to school. and im grateful for that. we both would like to have everyone of our classes together in the upcoming school year. our parents don't feel we should do that. i need help convincing my parents to let us talk with the principle about it.
