Upenn Posted Thursday May 15 2008, 7:07 pm
has anyone here attended the university of pennsylvania, or know someone who has? i would love to go there, but i am well aware that it is one of the most prestigious schools in the country and extremely difficult to get in. i'm at the top of my class and involved in quite a few clubs. unfortunately i havn't done any community service which is most likely a problem. what kind of activities were you involved in during highschool, what were your gpa/class rank and sat scores? my class has about 200 students, so i know i have to keep my class rank up. does having a smaller class make it harder for me to get in? any help will be appreciated, thank you!

how come i see other old models like 40s or maybe they just look old

Education Advice for Marketing & Advertising Career Posted Tuesday April 29 2008, 10:30 pm
17/f
I am student, currently enrolled in grade eleven, with a 4.0 GPA and a keen interest in advertising. At school I am taking Marketing 12 and finding it very interesting, despite having a highly unexperienced teacher. I enjoy the planning: developing themes and ideas for products or companies. I am mostly interested in the creative, strategic, and psychological aspects.
I realize the field is incredibly competitive, but I am still interested in pursuing this as a career. If anyone could tell me their personal experiences within the field that would be greatly appreciated.
I am also interested in knowing which post-secondary institutions are most suitable for either marketing or advertising. W...

College choices Posted Monday April 28 2008, 5:25 pm
Hi there, I'm a senior in high school and I'm about to make the first big decision ever, where I want to go to college. I live in San Antonio, Texas and I got accepted to UTSA (in San Antonio) and ASU (in San Angelo about 3 hours away).
I have a scholarship (2,000) to ASU and I have no scholarship at UTSA, but I'm afraid to move 3 hours away from my parents. I'm really stuck between these two choices and I have to make up my mind soon.
So, with that being said.. if you could choose, would you go to UTSA and live with your parents? Or, would you go to ASU and be three hours away from your parents?
Thanks!

Financial Aid Letter Posted Sunday April 20 2008, 3:51 pm
My financial aid letter includes tuition, room and board, and fees. However, when I sign online to the student information system, they added an extra $5,000 in books, personal expenses, and transportation. I can't afford the extra $5,000. I know I have to pay for books, but do you have to pay the school for personal expenses and transportation? Or do they give you an estimate of how much you'll be paying out of your pocket? Am I just paying tuition, room and board, and fees to the school? Any ideas? Thanks!!

LSAT Prep. Posted Tuesday April 15 2008, 10:49 pm
I need to take the LSAT, but am stumped as to which date is best...
I can take it either in June or October. I feel that taking it in June might not give me enough time to prepare (only two months left), but then again, October is over five months away. I understand there are pros and cons to both choices, but-
IF you have taken the LSAT and are in (or were) in Law School-
Which date do you think is best? I am aiming at a score in the mid-high 160's, so realistically, do you think two months is enough to prepare? Or is it better to wait till October?
The reason I ask is that I am also concerned about getting applications submitted early in the admissions process, so the sooner I have the s...

options after flunking out Posted Tuesday April 15 2008, 3:16 pm
I went a semester in a private college and earned no credits, then transffered to a community school and flunked out. With my past transcripts I'm afraid no school would ever accept me. I don't have the option of not returning to school. I'm afraid no college will consider me with such horrible transcripts. What are my options?

Cheap alternatives Posted Tuesday April 15 2008, 1:42 pm
I will be attending college in the fall. I am looking for some cheap alternatives to decorate my room (everything is so expensive) I am looking for lots of cute ideas for my wall/ door etc. We aren't allowed to paint the walls or anything and I can't nail anything to the wall.. I have to use that sticky poster hanging stuff.. I want it to be super personalized but even posters are like $15-$20 a pop.
Any ideas for a girls dorm are totally appriciated
(I am super girly, outgoing, bubbly, loves dancing, gymnastics, cheerleading and sports, and lots of color)
