Right or Wrong-to drink liquor? Posted Thursday December 14 2006, 11:46 am
My husband and I stopped drinking a year ago. We both like it, but we we're out of control. Plus, we became Christians and thought that it's wrong. However, now we are confused, because for (1) I haven't read anything in the Bible other than 'being drunk' that's wrong. (2) Am I reading Matthew wrong? He tells his disciples that they'll drink wine toghether again once they're reunited in heaven? Is moderation the key? Both Jesus and Paul said that everything is permissable just that everything is not beneficial.

how can i be questioning my belifes? Posted Monday December 11 2006, 6:29 pm
I am half christian, half jewish. However, for my beliefs, I choose to be 100% christian even though I celebrate both christmas and hanukkah. I believe in God and I pray every night and such. I'm not like a "go to church every sunday, read the bible" kind of person or anything, but I have been to church camps and little youth groups for about 6 years now. I have never doubted the Lord and still don't, but I just read a myspace blog of someone from my school who has different beliefs than me, which is fine, but some of the things he said really got me thinking. It wasn't about how he believed in the devil, it was mostly just about how he doesn't belive there is a God. I totally do don't get me wrong, but I am just confused all of a...

Is God Opposing or Supporting this? Posted Monday December 11 2006, 3:45 pm
I keep pondering whether God is supporting homosexuality, or opposing it. Many of my Christian friends have told me it's a sin to be homosexual, or bisexual for that matter, and according to the bible marriage is between a man and a woman. However, I always viewed it as God would accept you no matter who you are, or what you believe in. I am wondering which side I should take. I am not against homosexuality/bisexuality at all. I am befriended with many of them, and they don't bother me. It's just I am not sure which side is right, and which side I should go for. I need explainations on which side is better, even if it's based on opinion. Thanks in advance!

Is god punishing me or is he just taking up on my offer? Posted Wednesday December 6 2006, 4:29 pm
I am 13/F and not the best christian. I dont go to church but I do pray everynight. Well on Sunday my brother's best friend asked me out and I thought he was joking so I quickly and coldy said No way! Then that night I really liked a guy and foolishly prayed "lord, I know I havent been the best but please you know how much I like him could you please somehow influence him to ask me out? Ill pay the price like......you can make this week torture for me if he just does that one thing" then I went on with the prayer. Now me and the guy WERE really good friends. Then on Monday he got mad at me for no reason and one time when we were shoving eachother in the snow he just yelled "STOP FLIRTING WITH ME!" I was taken back but no...

Just wondering Posted Tuesday December 5 2006, 4:52 pm
I don't know, I've just been thinking about this alot lately. Okay, you know how people always say that to go to Heaven you have to believe in God and be religious and such? Well, what about a person who is kind and selfless and is just a good person in general and is an athiest? Does that mean that they wouldn't go to Heaven even though they were a good person who did good for other people? Because if you think about it, not every person who is religious is good. Like the terrorists who flew the plane into the World Trade Center, causing the deaths of all those innocent people. They claimed that they were doing that for God and their religion. I mean, wouldn't it seem wrong for a person just to go to Heaven because they were religious even...

Have we met before zillions and zillions of years ago? Posted Tuesday December 5 2006, 9:13 am
Are there any ideas in theories concerning relativity and the universe that at the end of eternity, time goes back to the beginning and starts all over again, following the same timeline of events?
I read about something like that a few years ago and was wondering if it had any base at all.

Not existing Posted Monday December 4 2006, 5:44 pm
I've thought a lot about death lately, and have found myself very freaked out about what it would be like to not exist and that this is my only life. Dying and being nothing and not even knowing for forever scares me a lot.
Any advice or reassurance would be nice. Anything concerning Jesus will automatically get your question rated a 1 and your face ripped off.

looking for a summary of Existential philosophy...help would Posted Sunday December 3 2006, 1:36 pm
i know as much as reading about two paragraphs on a like existentialism made easy style website...i now know there are a few subcategories...existential theists and existential atheists...the former believes that the world has meaning, but we can't understand it, the latter, that there just isn't inherent meaning to the world...and i guess the basic premise is that because of the world's either inherent or personal meaninglessness, we have to make our own meaning...can anyone elaborate?...please? : )

Christmas vs X-mas Posted Monday November 27 2006, 11:45 pm
I don't understand this. Many people are beginning to say X-mas. Well, the whole point of Christmas is because it is the birth of Christ. Isn't calling Christmas X-mas taking the whole point of Christmas away?
