standing up for yourself

say someone picks on you and such.. and makes rude comments, how do you stand up for yourself? because i dont have the confidence to go and say something if they were to say something to me or my friends? how do i gain the confidence to do this or what do i say? i dont want to sould like a prissy so any tips?

i have a friend that moved a few years ago and she was my best friend i mean we made like lifelong plans and now she almost never talks to me. the only times she does is online. and half the time its only because she has a problem with her ex or her new best friend or something. not only has she like completely left..she's all "im better than you" and stuff and i cant take it. she is a total fake now and i dont even know who she is. she isnt the same at all anymore. on top of all of this she is dropping weight like crazy. she is like 4 or 5 inches taller than me and weighs less than i do (i am also normal weight a little under but not sick or anything to worry about) what do i do?
I NEED HELP!

I'm a virgin and I want to stay a virgin until marriage. Don't get my wrong; this question is not about fighting perr pressure to change my mind. Actually, I'm worried about my friends. Unloading on me

My best guy friend has recently unloaded all his problems; I found out his dad's cheating on his mom, his grandpa died (his grandpa was like his excape from his parents) his parents continuesly fight, his grades are slipping, and he's been coming to school with alot of bruises latley.
I don't know how to handle this. I really like him and I want to help, but what should I say to him? What should I do?

ok i just got my friend gorunded because she came over and we uploaded pictures onto my computer from her camera and i guess i accadently deleted important pictures and now her mom grounded her and she called me crying and it made me cry and i feel SOOOO bad too!! also i just got over something happing sort of like this with another friend but what can i do to help my friend?

Ok, my friends and i have a pretty big group, a group of 9 people, plus some others that sometimes hang out with us. Usually Me, Jennifer and Hanna are kind of like the leaders of our group, although me and jennifer are really really close. Well, not really but we are the closest to eachother. Well, for about 2 weeks hanna would not let me and jennifer ever say 2 words to eachother without her being in the conversation too, which we thought was kind of annoying. my boyfriend and i have been together for a year and 3 months and im a VERY jealous person and i question everything and im afraid its going to ruin our relationship. he is jealous too but he is alot better at hiding it than me. if i get jealous i get upset and confused and i feel all torn-up inside i feel as if i have done something wrong. one of my best friends has recently revealed to me that she has a crush on this boy. howver, we are seniors in high school, and he is only a freshman in high school. what makes it weirder is that my friends brother is a freshman too (he doesn't know she likes this kid). i know that age shouldn't matter, but i just feel the wholse situation is so awkward & weird. he isn't really "matured" yet, so it is SO strange. she keeps on talking about it & it just bothers me that she basically has a crush on a little boy. the kid doesn't even know she likes him, but she talks about him as if they are married. what should i do? am i wrong in saying this is sort of innappropriate?

Last year, I was quite popular. I made everyone laugh, I talked to anyone and everyone, and I always had people around me. I was totally confident with my life.
Then, this year, all the sudden, I lost my group of close friends because they all got into drugs and drinking. Since I no longer have my close friends, I'm the one walking up to people desperatley trying to start a conversation. I'm the one feeling alone. I don't walk with people anymore, I'm picked last for partners in class, and I'm always feeling left out.
How do I get back to my old life?

Here's the sitch. We went on a date 2 weeks ago with this guy I met online. We went to the park talked a little, mostly my fault because I was so shy, and then went to Starbucks. We had frappucinos and become more lively. Then we went back to the park, hung out talked some more and we laid on the bench looking into each other's eyes. long story short is me and my friend got a little pissed at each other, no big deal, but when i tried to talk about it he turned into a complete asshole, i feel like hes changed and whenever i say that he just turns into a jerk with like "mk....i beg to differ...whatever" and so basicly i got rele pissed told him f u and i hate you and i sent him this email being like "this is the last email you'll ever get from me" and he sent bak "ouch that hurts" all sarcastic....and i really dont want to lose him as a friend, but hes being such a jerk about this....and i cant just pretend its all my fault if hes acting like this....what should i do?
