picking a song

So I'm trying out of my school's show choir. What are some simple songs I can practice and sing for the audition? And how do I even know I'm singing it right, like if I'm in key and such? Thanks!

I'm 16/f and not all that great at singing. I'm okay but I want to get better. I want to try out for my school's show choir, and the try outs are early this year like in the next few weeks. I need some good tips on what to do, how to sound better. Anything from anyone who knows what they are talking about will be helpful.

Theater Chest Voice

Sorry for the length and for it not being very well written...
I've been doing theater since 1st grade at school (and have gotten 8/10 leads). I'm changing to a different school where I hear the theater program is really serious and intense. The only problem is that my chest voice isn't too good.
My friends say that I am AMAZING at singing. That's with my "throat" voice. With my chest voice I have to sing really low, and I barely have any range at all. I want to get a good part, but how can I develop my chest voice to perform theater songs in a more intense and serious environment? Can I use my "throat" voice because it's much better and loud, but I'm not sure if it's loud enough.
PLEASE help!!

my name is "stacy" i love to act i love to sing i love being the center of attention1 who dosn't?!? i recently attended a theater summer camp! it ws great i went from being a NOBODY actress to a SOMEBODY..your probably asking...my problem? i rather spend time with my new found friends at camp then my ones at home there sooo boring its like listening to wanna be preps! no offense to them..its like they all have personality that has nothing to do with mine and my friends at camp there great! but well one of my friends at camp is moving to my school and my friends are having trouble accepting her (we met at a cafe once) i reallyyy wanted them to meet her turns out...THEY HATE HER i ...

ohkay, well. as you can tell i really want to get into acting. welll by my topic lol.
what do i do if my mom saiiz ill be good at acting but she never does anything and she wants me to become a "doctor" or a "lawyer" dont getme wrong ill be those if my acting career goes down in da dumps.
how do i start getting into acting? [[ive already done some school plays]]
does anyone know any good acting classes that are for fall or winter?

The Butler Did It - Theater

At my local theater, the next play is going to be The Butler Did It.
I have tried searching everywhere on the Internet, using Google, Dogpile and Yahoo search engines to find something - anything - about this play. I want to audition, but I don't want to waste my time if there are no roles for my age. I'm fifteen, I'm a female.
If anyone knows anything about The Butler Did It, please share. It's very frustrating because I can't find anything at all about it.

i saw this movie like a year ago and it was really good but i cant think of the name...hayden pennitere was in it along with this other boy... it was about this kid who drowned and went to a place between heaven...the place was magic and when he left he had to decide to go ooff a trapeze and if he was caught hed go to heaven...if he fell hed go back to earth... it wsas weird but it was really good...anyone know what it was?

i cant get over my fear of singing infront of people. my dream is when io finish college is to move to California and become a singer and actressand if that doesnt work then like a phsycologist for kids. i cant even sing infront of my own family. if done it infront of three of my friends but that was it and i wanna sing infront of my mom because i get my talent from her. she has the best voice. i wanna do the talent show too but i cant do that. i get real embarresed when i try singing in the shower cause if my dad hears me hell go,"sing brianna sing," and then that makes me nervous and then i stop. i really want to become a singer. i can act just fine. i do it in a heart beat. i dont get nervous or anything. ive been in chior and ...
