Sports- should I quit? Posted Monday December 9 2013, 4:09 pm
I am a level 8 gymnast and have done gymnastics for a while but i need to know- is it time for me to quit? Ive always been the last one in my group, but this year everyone moved up- BUT ME. Also, i seem to be prone to get mental blocks. I have periodically gotten and lost many skills over the years , and my coaches seem to hate me for it. They call me a coward, a wimp, and that I shouldnt be a gymnasts. Through the years, ive dealt with it but I dont know if i cant stand it! If i talk to my mom she says " just keep your head up!" But how can i if everyone keeps pushing me down?

Hi I'm in high school and I want to be a boxer with all my heart. My mom isn't too fond of the idea and neither is my dad but he said he will support me. I do have a punching bag but I don't have any boxing gloves but I might be getting some for Christmas. I'm not very strong but I am tough and I'm willing to work. I've watch Muhammad Ali and man I think how amazing it must feel to be a legend and I know it will be lots of work but I think I can handle it and I just need some ideas on how to become an amazing boxer..like workout routine? Diet? Attitude? Hygiene? Thanks in advance..and advice is much appreciated. (:

ok long but please read, as all info is important. Hi, i am a 20yr old female standing about 5'7 and 1\2... ish. so almost 5'8 and weighing in at about 150 pounds. i was down to 135 at one point and felt amazing. i have had weight troubles ever since child hood and only 2 years ago went to a christian boarding school and ended up losing TONS of weight! :D i have only as of a few weeks ago been diagnosed with aspergers so late diagnoses but obviously had it my whole life, so i was never really involved with typical sports but as a kid did karate, swimming, and golf, swimming was the only thing that really stuck and was always just for fun not competitive or anything, i LOVE being in the water and would rather be in the water than on the wate...

Well tomorrow its supposed to be hot so we were planning a trip to the beach. This place has been reported to several shark sightings. Im just wondering what do I do if I see a shark? I cant swim fast or run out because I have a sprained ankle any tips?

Ok so my goal is by the end of june to have my back handspring on the ground. I reccently started tryig it on my trampoline and I can do it absolutly perfectly. Qhenever I do it on the ground though I freakout and have a fear of doing is. How can I overcone this? Help!

i have in doing gymnastics for a long time know and at a high competitng level. the training is staring to get really difficult and the traveling is unberleaveable. i spend more time at the gym then at home and im getting really tired at school and when i get tired at the gym i start to train bad and that is when my coaches will start having a go at me they will make me stay late and i live 1 hour away from the gym and i finish at 9:00pm so im inly getting home later, really need some advice should i quit gymnastics.

Hi i am a sophmore in highschool and i play on My JV school team. i shouldnt say im not good because i know i am bubjust a lot of girls are better than me and its intimidating. I dont know how to get better because i love soccer with all my heart. i recently quit my intertown team because i want t join a travel team, ive wanted to for two years now but im not sure how to go about it and im scared the girls on the team im trying out for will be much better than me and i will embarrass myself. I feel stuck, i just want to improve. On JV towards the end i started my coach put me on stopper, even though i am an offender, i play my best up front and i just want to be on a team how do i go about this without chickening out and being intimidated?

A plan to get fit for volleyball season Posted Sunday November 18 2012, 11:49 pm
Okay, it was my freshman year playing volleyball and I made the freshman team. The coach said I had lots of potential, but the girls on the team did think so. They told everyone I was the worst player on the team. The varsity parents ALL told me I had improved a lot over the season. Then a sports banquet the team voted who got what. I didn't get most improved. That was my snapping point. I am going to fight back by working harder and getting on varsity team. I tried looking up information on diets, workout plans, and self training programs for volleyball players but I do not know how to put it all together. Is there an online workout and diet plans for volleyball or a site that will pacifically form to may need? And any tips of motivation would help

Ive been running for a little over a year. Since Im 18 I think I'm kind of in my prime, or just past it. So Ive been feeling a little discouraged about my race times.
My best time for racing, what I'm racing now, is between 26 mins flat, and a 26:30 for a 3.1 mile (5k) distance.
My goal is to be at a sub 20min time by my senior year in college. Ive been working so hard and sweating so much and sacrificing a lot of time but I just don't seem to get any better, even though I have a coach and I'm constantly pushing harder and harder.
So is it possible that I could still make that goal, or is it impractical do you think?
Wouldn't I have been able to run that fast by now if I was ever going to? ...

My daughter plays on a soccer team and recently lost their first game against a team that is without a doubt are biggest rivarly. That being said one of the coaches did not say this to the girls on the field, but later posted it on his daughter's facebook page. That winning the game doesn't matter the tournament is what counts. Now I know this coach and he has a personal vendetta against the other teams coach, his daughter is friends with some of those players. So he wanted to send the message that basically their win doesn't count and I think that is so wrong. First of all we are talking about 10-13 girls. This has really bothered me that he would go out of his way to send this message and put down their win. They played better than ...

Hi everyone. I'm 18f, and have been running for about a year and a half or so.
I'm on a college team this year and we train 5 days a week... but lately my body can't seem to handle it. I am tired and weak all the time, and I eat constantly but my hunger never seems to be satisfied!
I don't get as much sleep as I should, admittedly, but I wonder if there are other factors in my feeling this way.
I raced this morning for example, and all day i haven't felt good (Muscle weakness throughout my body, achiness, general fatigue, hunger/nausea)
I am confident that Im eating pretty healthy. I eat a good amount of carbs and protein, and I try not to over-do it on the sugar. I've been drinking water and tea a lot too. An...
