The Proper Possesive Form Posted Monday July 11 2011, 1:34 am
I think this is the correct category. How would one say "This is Ryan Jones photography." Would it be -Ryan Jones'- or would it be -Ryan Jones's-? Thanks for the help!
And this is so that I can start a Facebook page and make sure that I do no look ignorant when I make it.

Returning Calls Posted Tuesday June 14 2011, 12:49 am
If a friend ( a person who claims to be a friend) is terrible about returning phone calls or email. How often should one contact them until they do? Actually for fear that they may never call at all. Would it be proper to avoid them completely and just let them do the contacting and risk the friendship?

Would it be fair to download it!!! Posted Sunday March 20 2011, 5:21 am
Basically, I want to read a book i came across on the internet (www.scribd.com). It's an interesting book about Occult sciences and spirituality. I found that the author of the book died 23 years ago and the publisher has stopped printing new copies of the book and the publisher lives in a city far-off from my home. But i also found that some old copies are available in my city too. But the problem is that i do not want to read a hard copy as i will feel extremely awkward and embarassed if people around me found out that i read such books (occult sciences) as it is considered to be superstition, taboo or a scary science. The ebook can be downloaded for free from the internet but i don't know if it will be ethical to download it as i do not ...

Should I apologize? Posted Wednesday March 16 2011, 12:12 am
About a year ago I was working as a care aid in a long-term care home. We were scheduled to take a group of seniors out to shop, and I was washing up this resident, around then she was 101 I believe. I realized that I was about to be late, so I dried this resident up as fast as I could and covered her a bit, and left the room to try to find another care aid to take over for me and finish washing her.
When I got back with another care aid the resident was obviously upset about being left alone (she said, "don't leave me again!" or something like that). I felt really bad about leaving her because I knew she would get cold very easy, and she was basically helpless (bedrest, couldn't get her up). This has really been b...

How Lovely... yeah right Posted Tuesday January 25 2011, 4:03 am
When women are being married, they usually start showing off their engagement/wedding ring(s). I have very selective taste, and I find many of them to be gaudy or downright ugly. What am I supposed to say when these women are expecting me to tell them, "How lovely"?

Am I right to want him out? Posted Tuesday January 25 2011, 4:02 am
My husband gave a friend of his -- I'll call him "Fred" -- a place to stay and nursed him back to health after Fred was critically injured while driving an ATV. Fred was drunk at the time.
That was six years ago, and Fred is still here. While he has helped my husband with a few chores, he does not work. My husband provides him with a travel trailer, utilities, food and beer money. Fred is 47 years old and perfectly capable of working. I feel he is being disrespectful, and I want to set some ground rules -- getting a job and staying out of our house when we are not home, for starters.
My husband doesn't seem able to have a discussion with Fred. Am I selfish and un-Christian? This is straining my marriage. Please help.

A favor. Posted Tuesday January 11 2011, 2:29 am
I recently searched my name and found that your site came up on Google on this 'advicenators' website, where I had once posted as a child. Frankly, this is an enormous embarrassment, as anyone who searches my name can see it. I would like my name removed ASAP. Please do this favor for me to spare me the future embarrassment.
Thanks so much,

I have been invited to a political Gala dinner. What is the appropriate dress-code for such an event? I don't want to appear in black tie, only to find everyone else in formal attire?!
Thanks in advance :)

Moving to a small town and fitting in? (kinda long, I'm lost here..) Posted Saturday December 11 2010, 9:45 pm
This is pretty long, I have a lot of things I'm needing some help with here. If you aren't ready for a bunch of insecure teenage rambling, turn back. :)
Well, I live in a town of maybe 10,000, which by some standards is small, but my folks are looking to move to a town that's in the hundreds when it comes to population.... That's a big jump.
I'm a 16 year old girl, born and raised in the "country" part of the city, but I've always been half and half. My friends are city, my family is country. I'm like a hybrid. And because of that, I don't have a clue how life will be for me in what some have called "red neck paradise."
I speak kinda country and own old, hand-me-down plaid s...

Daughter is not able to invite all her friends for a birthday outing Posted Monday November 29 2010, 5:34 pm
We are keeping my daughter's birthday low-key this year. I told her she could take a friend out to dinner and she managed to convince me to allow three friends to go out for dinner. She had already chosen two friends (and had told them about it...) and was trying to decide on the third. We live on a street where she plays with two of the neighbor girls a good bit, but when she asked if she could invite one of the girls, I said she couldn't invite one without inviting the other and at this point, don't want this to turn into a birthday 'party' but rather just a way to celebrate her, so I don't want a bunch of girls out to dinner. So my dilemma is - do I need to mention it to the two moms on the street? I don't want their daughter's feel...

Total was less than 4.00...PDF arrived...I explained what happened to the pd...they told me if I would admit to the crime they would just let me go and charges would be dropped..scared and not wanting to go to jail, stupidlkmy I admitted I took the item. Would you rather see? Posted Monday October 18 2010, 6:03 am
A girl get "slimed" (covered in nickelodeon green slime) wearing like super casual clothes like a t-shirt and shorts or wearing something like a cute dress and heels with makeup/hair done? I'm participating in a charity event and I have seen people online get slimed and sometimes they're like dressed up for it and it looks funnier so I was thinking if I should do that. Would you pay more to see that?
I guess it sounds weird to dress up to get slimed but I've seen other people doing it, and it sounds like it could be funny. So... should I get slimed wearing like a casual shirt/shorts or something like a dress, heels, makeup/hair done nicely, maybe a bit of jewelry?
Thanks :)

How do I interpret this approach from a girl? Posted Friday October 8 2010, 10:19 pm
I was alone in a restaurant recently where I am a regular customer. A waitress, with whom I have never spoken before, came up to me and asked me if I wanted her to introduce me to some girls (!). I was thoroughly taken aback, as no one has ever walked up to me and asked me anything like that.
I had no idea how to interpret that (if she was flirting with me, why would she talk about other girls? If she wasn't, what brought that up out of nowhere?), and I responded with confusion and suspicion rather than poise, asking her what that was all about. She said it was merely "making conversation", and she said she wouldn't bother me further; this ended the interaction.
How would I have more properly handled ...

how do you tell your ex you don't want to be friends? Posted Tuesday October 5 2010, 12:58 am
Well, actually, I have told my ex I don't want be friends repeatedly, but every time we run into each other we have like a 2 minute friendly conversation. Then the next day he sends me these massive e-mails saying how we should really be friends, and I'm being immature and worrying too much because obviously we can have a conversation or demanding I explain my reasons for not wanting to be friends.
I don't hate this guy, but I don't want to be his friend and I don't want to argue about my reasons with him either. He's not a monster or anything, he's just a bit of a bully and I never liked the way he was condescending with me. But I am going to keep running into him sometimes and I do want to stay civil. How do I make these e-mails stop without telling him off?
