Annoying Fleas Posted Thursday July 31 2008, 11:14 am
I have 3 dogs and they all have fleas. I dont know how to get the fleas out of my house. Everytime I treat all of my dogs, sure they dont have fleas on them anymore at the time then an hour later they have them again since theyre all over my upstairs part of my house. Somehow I dont have them downstairs anymore, but mainly upstairs. I dont allow any of my dogs upstairs at all right now and I keep every door up there closed. My younger dogs are 6 and 7 weeks old and they will soon be learning to walk up the steps and I dont want to have to make them stay downstairs. So I need to know if anyone has found something good that will make my home flea free so I dont have to bathe my dogs and puppies soo much just for relief. Need help as soon as p...

Disgusting Dog Habit. Posted Thursday July 24 2008, 10:30 pm
I know you aren't animal experts or veterinarians but maybe your dog does what mine does or has. I have two dogs and their both well trained. One is a 9-year-old Lab/Beagle and the other a 1-year-old Pug/Shitzu cross.
Every time the big dog and the little dog go out to the bathroom together the big dog comes back in soaking wet. I finally caught the little one urinating on the big dog even though there's a ton of places for him to go. I'm curious why does he do this to her?
We've since made them go outside separately as it's become quite the problem otherwise. Is it a territory thing? Not to be gross he also tends to go to the bathroom on top of what she left. I don't know. It's weird.

My friend recently had to put her dog to sleep Posted Monday July 21 2008, 2:28 pm
So like my subject says, my best friend just had to put her dog to sleep and it is seriously killing her. She knows I'm always available to talk and be with her when she's down, but is there something else I could do or get for her to make her feel a bit better? Let me know.

is she depressed? Posted Wednesday July 16 2008, 10:38 pm
my dog is turning 10 this year. i've raised her since she was 6 weeks old. when she was less than a year, we moved her outside in a pen and got another dog who was a little older than her to keep her from bein lonely at such a young age. they've been together ever since. well, my older dog died on sunday. im afraid that my other dog, the one we've raised, is getting depressed. she doesnt seem to be eating or drinking any water. and she lives outside in the Georgia heat so i know she's gotta be hott and gettin hungry. i dont know what to do. i read up on dog depression and it basically says spend more time with them, take them to a dog park/day care, or get another dog companion for them. there are no dog parks around here, we cant get anoth...

Allergies to pets Posted Wednesday July 16 2008, 12:45 pm
I would really like to get a cat, but the problem is my fiancé is allergic to cats (it's not TOO bad with hives or anything, but his eyes really water and he sneezes quite a lot around cats).
My mother says that she used to be allergic to cats, but got one and her allergies went away within a year-- but only to that one cat. She still had reactions while around cats other than the one she owned.
Can a person really become immune to a certain animal if they are around it enough? Or should I just make my fiancé get allergy shots?

my mean loving dog Posted Tuesday July 15 2008, 2:52 am
I posted a question about the dogs in my house fighting a while back. well, I have now found out that it is in fact my dog that initiates these fights. He has shown some very bad signs in the past year, he nipped my son's face (there is no more contact between them since) and lately he has been starting very vicious fights with my boyfriend's dog. Well, I see that my dog is not good to have around because I cannot trust him with my child around and so he barely gets enough attention from me and now he is fighting with his only other companion. I love this dog so much, he is so obedient to me and shows me so much love...but I know I cannot have him, especially since my boyfriend says I have to get rid of him. I cannot take him to the sh...

What Kind of Pet Should I Get? Posted Thursday July 10 2008, 9:21 pm
I'm looking to get a small(ish), inexpensive pet. Preferably one that's not too much to maintain, and also won't be too smelly.
Obviously I know if the cage or whatnot is cleanred properly that shouldn't be too much of an issue, but you know what I mean.
I live in an apartment (well, private house), so noise is also a factor.
Also, if you suggest a fish, maybe suggest a certain kind instead of just "get a fish". Like name or what color it is and what not. And also maybe let me know the price range and what they eat.
Thanks! =)

My dog pees on the floor Posted Wednesday July 9 2008, 1:51 pm
Okay, so my family has a 4 year old female yellow lab. She is a part of our family but is locked in the kitchen when we have to go out or when we go to sleep. Many times lately my parents have walked her at let's say 4 then at 6 found a little puddle of pee on the floor. She is trained not to and these past few months have been the first time since she was only a small puppy. My mom called the vet and the vet told her it is probably just the dog being spiteful. Now my parents are getting fed up and saying that they are giving her away soon. I love my dog so much but I don't know what to do to make her stop peeing on the floor. Help?

my kitty's strange new bathroom habits Posted Saturday July 5 2008, 8:24 pm
My 2 1/2 yr. old female kitty, Tiggy began to pee in the bathtub last year when she went into her first heat. The only time she's done this is when she was in heat, then i subsided. Over the weekend, my husband turned on the stove burner to make tea and he smelled the odor from hell. It seems she peed in the drip pan and on the burner to our electric stove. He never liked pea soup, but trust me, this was the worst pee soup I never could have imagined Unreal to finally clear the odor. She plays with the stream of water in the bathtub faucet sometimes, could she have thought the water in the teapot was connected somehow? I'm grasping here! Holy Cow!!!

scared of dogs Posted Saturday July 5 2008, 5:57 pm
ok this could be embarrassing but i live in an apartment and we live down and the neighbors upstairs dog is annoying me and really scaring me. what am i going to do if i had to come out there again. its so annoying the dog senses everything and even if i tried not to be scared it seems like its barking at me still and i am scared of getting bitten or attacked by it. what if it chases me around. i cant stand dogs they really scared me and i dont think i could stop being scared. the dog senses me strongly. i would be happy if it just leaves me alone. and i also feel kind of spied on and disrepected by the neighbor upstairs. so what do i do? and i am not a dog lover and i dont like going to pets and petting them it just annoys me.
