east coast colleges Posted Wednesday September 23 2009, 5:14 pm
I am a junior in high school and I am looking into colleges now. I want to be a criminal profiler, like on the show criminal minds. I currently live in Rhode Island, I want to move to New York. Does anyone know of any good colleges in New York that specializes in that field. but I am open to colleges in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey. Basicly I want to get out of Rhode Island but still remain on the east coast. I really dont want to go to mass or anywhere above that. Mass is like a last resort though.

Anthropology Homo Species Posted Tuesday September 22 2009, 2:13 pm
I am working on a paper for anthropology and i am confused. Is the species "Homo" its own species or is just sort of the umbrella that Homo erectus, homo sapien, and modern humans fall under?
Thanks so much!

admission essay for college Posted Monday September 21 2009, 7:16 pm
My English teacher wants us to draft a college admission essay for Thursday. I know that the admissions office does not like reading the same essays every year, like how a sport made you a better person or how a travel experience changed your life. I want to be original but I feel as though I'm going to sound like everyone else.
My ideas so far are writing about how I did Irish Dancing for most of my life (I don't even know any girls my age that do it), what led my to my career choice (I saw a girl get hit by a car and have wanted to be a nurse since), or talking about how thankful I am for my glasses/contacts (I've had to wear them since I was 3).
I don't know if these ideas are too far out or not original in the least bi...

Transferring A&M Posted Monday September 21 2009, 12:44 am
I'm interested in transferring to Texas A&M from another TX university, but I'm really nervous... I always wanted to go there but was wait listed and ended up at another university and I'm not at all happy here. I really want to transfer, and I have the grades, but I'm really nervous. Tradition is really important to A&M and I feel like I'm not gonna fit in as well there because I don't know what's going on and everyone else will have been there for two years. I know it's not ALL about the traditions and I'll find my place eventually, but I'm just nervous about feeling like a reject. So does anyone have any advice for transfer students? especially people from a&m? I'm just really on the fence about transferring and I want to, I'm just nervous!
thanks

freshman stress Posted Monday September 14 2009, 10:32 pm
I'm so beyond overwhelmed with my college work. I have a difficult major that requires a lot of studio time to build models and projects. That alone could easily take up my time but then I have to take the core classes too which have nothing to do with my major. I'm so exhausted because I don't sleep much because I'm up late doing projects and papers. Everyday from the moment I wake up until the moment I fall asleep I'm doing work stopping only twice to eat. So thats from 8am-11pm everday, 6 days a week.
I don't know what to do. I'm on the edge of crying because I just can't take it and it's only September.

sororityyy! Posted Thursday September 10 2009, 7:32 pm
If I go to Texas A&M and I'm in a sorority (hopefully Zeta Tau Alpha or Delta Gamma!!)..am I required to live in the sorority house?
I think that would be alot of fun but I have plans already to get a house off campus for my sophomore year in college.
So I was wondering if maybe I could live in the sorority house my first year and then move out but still be in the sorority..?
Does anyone know anything about that?
I know its different at all colleges, so if anyone knew exactly for Texas A&M, that would be great!!

college confusion! Posted Thursday September 10 2009, 1:18 am
im a freshman in college so i've only been here about 4 weeks. and i have some major questions.
1. at the moment im a biology major because i want to be a radiology technician so pre-med requires either a bio or chem major... i hate both of those, so i'm pretty miserable. how exactly do you go about changing majors? like could i just walk up in there one day and be like i want a different major and have to get all my classes changed all of a sudden?
2. i'm not sure what exactly i want to do. i'm in between physical therapy [specializing in athletics], radiology, or forensic investigation. soo.. like what the heck i dont even know what to do? how do i talk to an advisor when each "college" has its own...

london, uk - sixth form/ collages- Help please. it means a lot Posted Tuesday September 8 2009, 4:10 pm
i live in london (kingston), and i wanna leave my school at the end of year 11. i go to an all girls private, rich schhol, and i hate it. i wanna go to a normal, mixed school college. and i prefer a college, because i'm sick of being put in a sick institution where i have to wear a stupid uniform and do subjects i have like p.e. anyway. if you r thinking of kingston college, then don't bother, because i'm in a great posistion where i can really go to school anywhere in the uk as long as i don't have huge complications like going to ireland. also i only speak english. i'm planning to move to the US after college. the subjects i would like to do (although i'm flexible)include media studies (no previous gcse), economics and pyschology. i wanna...

Physical Therapist Posted Saturday September 5 2009, 11:30 pm
I was thinking of majoring in physical therapy for when I go to college. Is anyone a physical therapist? Is it hard? (I am an athlete, does that have to do with anything?) If you are an assistant to a physical therapist, how much do you think you will get paid? Why on earth do you have to take so many math classes? Do you even have to take math classes? What dont you like about it? I know there are alot of questions, just answer what you can! thanks :-)

freshman. Posted Wednesday September 2 2009, 8:27 pm
i start college in a few days, and i'm (finally) starting to freak out.
what should i bring? do i pack all my clothes? or just some of them, so that i don't have to pack again when i'm going back home?
should i bring school supplies, or buy them after i figure out what my classes require? i have pens and pencils and a backpack, obviously.
my parents honestly believe that college students come home every weekend. how do i let them know otherwise, without killing them? i wouldn't mind coming home every once in awhile, but i am not taking a two-hour ride back once a week.
there's so much more but i can't think of it right now. expect a couple edits.
