Finding A Job Posted Monday March 30 2009, 8:49 am
Hi.
I am looking for my first job, and I'm 18. I've never had a job before because I couldn't balance school & work at the same time, and nobody was looking. A lot of places said they'd call if they had positions, but they never did. I have not graduated from highschool, nor am I currently attending school, because I moved out of my house, and it's too late in the year to go back. I am going to school for my GED in September, but would like a job to have some money until then.
I just have some questions. When they ask for professional references, who do I put? I have some references who are professional, but they're friends & I know some places dislike personal references even though that's all I have. ...

Buisness Card. Posted Monday March 30 2009, 2:24 am
So here's my problem:
On the side I like to do photography. Recently it's become more of a job than a hobby. I'm trying to come up with something catchy to go on my buisness card.
I have a few cards, but the main one that I need help on is for senior portrates. I want to think of something catchy but I'm not good with that sort of thing.
Anything will be helpful.
Also I'm trying to make ones for weddings. Currently I mostly just do photoshoots for local bands, which is great, but I'm just trying to expand a little.
The wedding card is hard too because I can't write something like pleanty of expirencel, since I've only done three weddings, I'm just stuck, loo...

Am I right for quitting my job? Posted Sunday March 29 2009, 8:02 pm
I currently walked out of my work place. My manager has made me feel belittled, disrespected, stupid, useless and a whole bunch of other things that aren't right. There isn't enough room for me to list everything, but I hope the point is still the same.
The icing on the cake came when I was clocked out and on lunch break outside of the business establishment talking with a friend about how I disliked my job. This was a private conversation. Come to find out, my manager was eaves dropping on us. I came back from break and she confronted me with "I heard what you said and I don't appreciate it." After that, she gives a huge list of tasks to do that can't be done within one day, let alone one weekend. I was wrote up later for ...

I recently started looking into becoming a marine biologist, but my grades in math and bio aren't that good. Plus i'm not that fond of being away from home for months on end. I also dont think i could handle being a vet because I couldnt have the heart to put animals to sleep etc..
So what would be a good job for me that has to do with helping all types of animals?

Finding a job! Posted Monday March 16 2009, 5:09 am
Okay so I've recently turned 17 years old and i haven't had a job before. I did my school work experience (placement) for two weeks at a pet store and that was it. I've been looking for jobs, handing in properly made resumes, applications, visiting stores and asking for any positions but they all keep rejecting me. I know I've made my resumes properly because i used a template from a website and altered it for my preferences and got some family members to take a look just in case. The thing is, now I'm in my final year of school so i can only work casual, and no one ever seems to be employing!
In certain jobs I've applied and re applied over and over for casual jobs because the applications expire over so many months.

13 work? Posted Wednesday February 18 2009, 10:10 am
How old do you have to be to get a part time job? I was thinking I would like to work at CVS or a book store, or some where like that, but I've heard you can't get a job until you 16. I know some of my friends have jobs teaching younger kids at their dance studio. I clearly can't drive yet, and both of my parents work, so I would like to find a job for after school, so I could possibly walk or bike to where ever from school. Thank you!!!... :)

Hey, I'm kayla. I'm 14. And I'm looking for a babysitting job. You of course will have to speak with my parents first before I babysit. But I live in Fresno, California. I have been babysitting a lil girl who is 4, for about 2months. But I have known her since she was born.I have alot of babysitting skills. And childcare skills. I of course will feed your child, do the dishes that the children make a mess in. I will clean, of course with just a lil extra charge. I will never hit a child. There is of course time outs. Only if the child or children have done something to where they need a time out. I love doing fun activities with the children. Like painting a picture or coloring or just sitting around watching a movie. If you have any questi...

to call or not to call. Posted Sunday February 15 2009, 5:12 pm
im desperately looking for another job and have filled out 7 applications in the past couple weeks. only two of the places said they actually WERE hiring but i wasn't hired. the other places didn't say they were hiring but are "accepting applications", which pretty much means there's no hope right? anyway, should i call the places that said they're accepting applications to check up on my application, or if they're not really hiring do they even look at them? and also if i do call, what should i say because obviously it'll be different than calling a place that IS hiring. thansk <3

A possible job? Posted Friday February 6 2009, 5:13 pm
I want to become a lawyer or judge, or something to do with the law in the future but lately i've been thinking of like religion and death and after-life and all those things.
Is there a career in religion studies? I'm sure it would be not as well paid as a lawyer or judge, but I'd like to know my options before. Even when i become a lawyer, I'd like to take some classes on religion and death/after-life based on religion. To me it's more of an excitement to know these things....BUT is there a possible job/career?
