Jobs for a math project

Posted Saturday May 23 2009, 11:13 am

So for my High School math project, I have to find a job that I could get right out of college (so at maximum, one year of experience) that would pay 50,000 dollars per year. I have no idea what jobs pay that. Any help ASAP would be extremely appreciated. Thanks!

Paid to do sruveys

Posted Friday May 22 2009, 3:34 am

Has anyone tried to do these sruveys where you get paid to do them. I live in a small town now and it is a little combersome to get a new job that is close to home. I would enjoy working from home and I have all day to be on the computer so I wouldn't mind doing the surveys. Has anyone successfully done it and gotten a check? Do you know a good company?
Thank you

what now?

Posted Wednesday May 13 2009, 5:14 pm

i'm 18/f
for two years i worked for a family-owned barbeque restaurant. they have two restaurants in my town and i worked at the original location. well because the economy is so bad and business died they cut hours a lot, which made them a little overstaffed and i started only working one, maybe two, days a week which wasn't enough money so i quit at the end of february. i left on good terms and the owner said if another job doesn't work out i can always come back.

well i work at another restaurant now. and i like it, it's good money and a nice place. but they so far have only worked me friday through monday, so tuesday, wednesday, and thursday i have nothing to do. college is rapidly approaching which i have to save...

Vector

Posted Monday May 11 2009, 10:02 am

I recently went to an interview with Vector. I initially thought it would be a great place to work since their base pay is 15 dollars. It sounded like a nice job.

During the interview, she said you only earn 15 dollars per appointment. You'd be selling knives. I thought wow, how lame. Then she mentions for a starter pack it's $140. I even had one friend who went through vector and said it's not worth it.

Also, the manager was a total B***h. When I asked questions, she got sarcastic with me. And when we had to write down notes during the group interview, she noticed I wasn't writing down something, and got sarcastic with me, asking if my pen was broke. I was like, "wow."

The group interv...

Part-Time Job for Student

Posted Sunday May 10 2009, 1:29 am

21/f

I am a full-time college student, and I need a part-time job. The problem is that I have not worked in a long time. I'm afraid that the only places that will hire me are fast food jobs. The jobs I had in the past I did not have very long. I had a job for nine months once, and that is the longest I have stayed at one job. I realize this sounds horrible to employers, but there's nothing I can do about my past.

My question is this: How can I make myself sound employable in an interview? How can I make myself look employable in an application. It's highly unlikely that I'll be looking at any jobs that require resumes. I just don't know how to make myself sound like a good employee when I haven't worked much. ...

drug test

Posted Monday May 4 2009, 11:13 pm

my parents are really pushing me to get a job. im 16 and i dont have my permit, or my license yet. and kroger is nearby, so i could basically walk to work if i got a job there.

the only problem is im very well-aware that they test your urine for drugs. and i smoked weed twice within the last week and a half, so i know i'd fail.

im not wondering how to pass one, im just wondering what happens when you FAIL one. like, do they get the cops involved? do they call your parents? or do they just say i cant have the job and send me out or fire me, ban me from the store, or what?

Graphic Design

Posted Tuesday April 28 2009, 10:30 pm

I've received a lot of conflicting information about working as a Graphic Designer/Graphic Artist. Some sources say you need a degree in Graphic Design, and other sources say it is preferred, but not necessary. Which one is correct? Does anyone have any pointers on breaking into this industry?

They ask for employment experience (which i have NONE of), but not volunteer experience which i have TONS of

is it possible to have the application and then attachhh something i write about myself? or is that dumb...

Ok. SO. Currently I work at GameStop. I've been employed there for about 3 months now, and they have yet to give me more than ONE day a week. Now..being a senior in high school with no car and plans to attend college next year, I need more money than ONE day a week. So I applied at Home Depot. I got an interview tomorrow. Seeing as Home Depot pays $12.00 starting rate, I think it's a great opportunity. Now GameStop has recently started to give me more hours. Now that I got the interview at Home Depot, I feel that I'm basically going behind GameStops back. It's not that I want to quit GameStop, I want both jobs. But say I do get the Home Depot job..How do I explain to my GameStop boss that I have a second job but still want to ke...

I want to make some money, but I also don't want to spend every single day working..so I was thinking about working only a few times a week (maybe 3-4?)

I was wondering where to start? And where would I go/talk to to get an application or inquire about jobs?
