singing

Posted Tuesday January 17 2006, 5:29 pm

There's this huge show next month at school, and I volunteered to sing Carrie Underwood's "Jesus Take the Wheel". I know I can do it, I'm already halfway there perfecting it, but I need some tips. Can anyone who knows much about this subject give me great tips? Mostly including tone, airflow, and lots of vibrato? Thanks in advance.

singing---ONLY SINGERS ANSWER THIS

Posted Monday January 16 2006, 1:59 pm

Ok, before I ask my Q, I just want to make this clear---IF YOU DON'T KNOW A LOT ABOUT MUSIC, DO NOT ANSWER. I don't want anyone saying "oh drink some honey and tea and that will turn you into a huge opera singer."

My range is from E3-Db6. I was a soprano for a while, but I switched to mezzo because my mid-voice notes are stronger and richer than my higher notes. My problem is: From D4 on up, my notes sound kind of thin and weak. I can sing the notes easily, but it doesn't sound rich like my mid-voice register. If fact, it sounds like two different people singing. But last week, I had a 3-hour choir rehearsal, and near the end my higher notes sounded rich and like the same person singing. Why is this?

voice technique

Posted Sunday January 15 2006, 9:19 pm

hey,
i'm in a band and we play shows all the time but lately i've started to blow my voice earlier and earlier in the show. we're a rock band and do loud singing but not death metal screaming. sort of like cobain, if you will. i need advice on how to build up endurance in my voice and still be able to sing as hard as i do. i have no money for vocal training, so any help is hugely appreciated.

thanks in advance

Posted Tuesday January 10 2006, 1:30 am

Im a girl, so i already know i'll suck more at guitar then guys. But, i'd like to start getting into guitars because music is one of my passions. I have long slender fingers so will that be an advantage when playing guitar? Okay well my question is, i want to play the song "vermilion pt. 2" on guitar, and I think its acoustic. I looked up the tabs. It said acoustic i think. Well anyways i was looking up acoustic guitars on google, and i also looked up electric guitars. And acoustic guitars are ugly! So, whats the difference between acoustic and electric guitars? Electric looks easier, but i dont know much when it comes to guitar. Please let me know as much info as possible, from experience would be even better. Im a beginner (only...
