I'm so confused

Posted Monday February 7 2005, 7:24 pm

Ok, I have the opportunity to go to this really good highschool, where you can have 2 years of college finished when you graduate and it looks better on your college application and everything. The problem is,I know some people that go there and they said that htey were straight A students, and when they got there they started making C's and D's, and that it was ALOT of stress and they never get to do anything anymore.Everybody keeps telling me to go, that I can handle it, but I don't really want to, and I'm scared to. At my school now, everything is going good, and there's a guy that I really like, and I would never get to see him again if I went to that other school. I just have no idea what to do. I don't want to give up a great opportuni...

AHH

Posted Saturday February 5 2005, 6:20 pm

Lately, I've been having a lot of "what if I can't do it?" moments.
I recently got the lead in our school musical, and it was my first time auditioning for this school's performance (I transferred in as a sophomore, and I'm a senior.)
I feel like I'm letting everyone down because I'm having trouble getting the dances. I'm a singer - like, majorly. I sing opera, that's what I'm going into - and I can act rather well, I think. But I don't dance. I can jazz dance and ballet, but not musical theater. It's just not working, lol.
I also have a lot going on. I have a couple scholarship auditions coming up, another performance, and that, and I'm in the middle of two competitions, all vocal. I always worry that I'm ...

Poetry?

Posted Tuesday February 1 2005, 11:10 am

How do you write a poetry essay? My title is 'compare the way the poets use the idea of time passing and it's effects in each of the poems'. I'm writing stuff about how the rhyme scheme in one creates the idea of time passing quickly and in the other how the rhyme sceme makes it sound like time is passing slowly because you have to read it slowly...and then stuff like, 'this poem is about...blah' and 'this other poem is about...blah'...but I'm not sure I'm doing it right...none of my points seem to relate to my title. Any pointers?? I'm not asking you to do this for me, just give me some hints on how to write a decent poetry essay (i.e. what to include?). Thanks loads!!

homework

Posted Sunday January 30 2005, 9:08 pm

In my house, my siblings have about average grades. Since i was young i have done extremely well. Last year i got a 4.0 through the hole year. Now school is getting very difficult for me but somehow i manage to do okay. It is my freshmen year in high school and i got 4 a's and 2 b's and i wish i could do better. I have a hard time memorizing things so when tests come i bomb them. My family is not what you would call rich, but we arent poor either. my parents would have all 3 of us kids in college at the same time when im a freshmen in college. I want to get a schollarship somewhere but as my dad says, "A's will get you schollarships, b's wont." My question is what are some different ways that all of you memorize the hard facts, expecially in biology and history.
