I'm 15 and I really want a job! Posted Thursday November 12 2009, 3:32 pm
I'm 15/f and I really want to get a job somewhere in my town. Any ideas of who to go to that would know of stores or busienesses that are looking for hire? Also, I have one babysitting customer that doesn't use me often, so any ideas on how to get babysitting jobs rather than flyers? because I tried that, it didn't work.

Hey everyone!
I am going for an interview at hollister and co. and I need to know what kind of questions they are going to ask so I can kinda prepare some good answers to impress them. This is my first job and I am really nervous.
Has anyone worked there? Is there anything I need to know about the interview besides what they will ask me?
Thank You!!

Job Interview Questions Posted Sunday November 1 2009, 11:46 am
18, Female
I have a job interview this Tuesday at Rue 21 (a clothing store). Subway is the only other job I have ever had, and I was related to the manager, so getting the job wasn't an issue. The problem now is I have no idea what to expect at my interview.
I am really stressing out, because I have been putting in job applications for the past six months, and this is the first call back I have received. I don't want to blow this. What should I expect? What questions will be asked? How early should I arrive? What should I wear? I definitely don't want to be underdressed, but I also don't want to look stupid by getting all dolled up.
Help?!

Good Skills Posted Wednesday October 21 2009, 6:26 pm
Hi everybody,
I am writing my resume and I don't have much work experience except as a receptionist and as a cashier. I listed all my responsibilities in those jobs which makes it obvious for possible employers which skills I have so I am not listing those again. However, I have an appointment with AppleOne to help me find a job and they told me to list 5 skills ... I put stuff like:
Hard-worker
Bilingual
Puntual
Positive
Responsible
Goal-orinted
Works well with others
Types 68 wpm
Of course, thos eare all ture about me... but I can only list 5 because they clutter my resume. And I;m not really satisfied with them. I am not posting stuff like "...

Grants for small business Posted Thursday October 15 2009, 6:51 pm
I am 25 and I am ready to start an online business...I am a woman and I am black- 1/2 african american and 1/2 west caribian...I also native american heritage (but that one may not be strong enough). So what is the best way to go about getting a grant to start, I basaically need money for basic inventory, international phone plan, licences, logo and website name and hosting. So I would say from 5,000-10,000 to start would be cool. Thank you for the advice.

Stocking positions in stores?!?! Posted Thursday September 24 2009, 2:38 am
Hello. I'm going to be talking to a manager at Walgreens sometime soon. He'd like to talk to me and possibly set up an interview. I'm writing to ask what kind of positions they would have to offer besides being a cashier, which is the obvious position. I've asked many people just so I can know some things ahead of time, but not many people know. I was hoping one of you atleast has worked at walgreens, or a store similar to it. I'm really wanting to work there, but I was wanting strictly a stock position. Putting things on shelves, organizing things on shelves, etc. Does anyone know if they would have a position like that? I think it would be really fun to do that, it'd go by fast, and I'd be good at that. I don't really wanna be working at ...

Drug test? Posted Wednesday September 23 2009, 5:42 pm
I just went for an interview and everything seemed like it went really well. The hiring manger seemed to really like me and appreciate my experience and personality. After the interview was finished, she told me that there was just one more step, a pre-employment drug test. I told her I could infact do it the same day and she said that after I take the test (which was across town.) that they would e-mail her the results right after and she would give me a call. I know my drug test was negative, I mean c'mon! lol But the problem is its almost 6:00pm and the drug test was at 1:00 today! The hiring manager STILL has not called! Would they seriously waste money on me taking a drug screen if they were not intending on hiring me?! I'm kind of a w...

Discouraging interview. Posted Tuesday September 22 2009, 7:21 pm
The economy is horrible. I have put in atleast 20 applacations in the past three weeks at local retail stores in my area. Imagine my suprise when just this past Saturday one actually calls to set up and interview. The interview was suppose to be for 2:00 pm today. I woke up at nine am to begin getting ready and preparing for the interview. I NEED this job! Being a single mom with no income at the moment is killing me. You could not imagine the hardships I have went through for the past month of being unemployed. (I was laid off at my previous job and was unable to draw unemployment.) I arrive at the interview 15 minutes till. I thought it would make me look more serious about wanting the position. I walk up to one of the employees and tell ...
