the ultimate question: how to make (and keep) new friends

I'm sure everyone has faced this problem at some point in his or her life. I tried searching for this question, but nothing really came up. Anyway...
First I will say that I am a very introverted person. But, I want to make new friends. This past year, I just haven't made any good friends. I know lots of people, but I don't really see them, or hang out. In fact, I don't even really like the people that I know. I haven't found anyone that I can connect with. If I have met someone that I think I could really be good friends with, they just don't really reciprocate. I feel like they aren't a good friend to me.
I'm moving to a new city soon. I'm seeing this as an opportunity to meet new people. But, how do I meet ...

17/f okay so i hang out with a close knit group who has been like this for three years. I have an amazing best friend who i adore and love. anyways.... so my sister is a freshmen and she is with my group now too. which is cool. so on to my problem..... okay there is this girl that came to my school like a week ago and i have found that i dont like her all that much and neither do alot of the people that i hang out with. Omg I did something really bad and I'm aware of it I just talked a little too much about this girl in my class to this kid who knows her and I'm soo sure he's going to go tell her all I said and make me and her fight over all of this and I know its my fault and I know I shouldn't of said anything bad about her in the first place but I wasn't thinking I don't know what to do and I'm sure he already told her ! I mean he said he wouldn't but he's done it before which is why I don't trust him I know stupid right? i need to learn to be more social, i do have friends.. but i get really shy and go blank in my mind and think to much too myself. when im around people i just need a way to be relax so i can be myself, and social.

confidence problem

Okay, so first off i do have a confidence problem.
WHen im with my friends, some of them i can be really loud, but then with ALL my friends or in big groups i get really quiet. I was wondering if this had anything to do with my confidence.
If it does how do i gain confidence. And i don't want to be shy when it comes to groups, its just i never can think of anything to talk about either..

okay so me and this friend lets call her wendy have been friends since elementry school... im not 18... okay so my senior year we started getting closer as friends so we hung out more... well she started going out with a 13 year old... Have you ever had a partner who you wanted to break up with, but still really wanted in your life as a friend?
My exboyriend was my best friend, but he was more than that. We got together when we were 17, friends from age 15. I felt like he was a part of my personality, and I loved him to bits. alright, well my friend is dating this guy that i like. and i have liked him for a loooonnng time. since the end of last school year, and she just started dating him last week. but, he always talks to me and like flirts with me. i know it sounds wrong on my part but me and the girl hes dating arent that good of friends, were more of aquantises(or however you spell it) but anyways, we both liked eachother the first week of school & we both knew it but we never told eachother. i just don't know if i i should tell him i like him or what?!!?

missing out on friday

on friday, my friend is having a sleepover at her house with like 5 other girls or something. i was invited but i couldn't go because i have something to do with my family. my problem is, whenever i can't go somewhere, even if it's not that big of a deal, my one friend has to make it like "the best time ever" and make me feel soo bad about msising out. it sucks though, cause when i miss ONE thing it's like they talk about it for EVER, and like plan all this stuff based around it just cause i wasn't there. but then like, if i had been there it wouldn't have been that big of a deal. she just tries to make me feel left out sometimes it feels like, and she tries to make it seem like it was soooo much fun and that because of 1 thing ...

so this sucks.
homecoming is coming up in a couple of weeks and all my friends have dates with people they REALLY like.
so that's cool.
but now they are all over me to get a date.
and there are all these scary guys that like me.
scary like...just gross.
totally not people that I would want to even talk to.

okay so me and my friends (let's call us Linda (me) sammy, becky, tyler and julie)K? well anyway "Julie" and i are like the leaders of our group mainly because we the first of the friends and b/c we are a lot more confident than the rest of our group (some people mistake it as being cruel and bitches). ok, so i'm 13/f, and i have to 13/f friends who have been best friends since forever. one feels like she's been living in the other's shadow (lets call her Alma), and doesn't know what to do about it, so finally she gets mad at the other girl (Ana) for no reason. actually her "reason" is that the girl didn't tell her that there were beta club elections for president, and so now she's all pissed. it's so retarded. now she won't even talk to her. and we've all been in a group together since who knows when, and i'm still friends with them both, but they won't talk to each other. Also, "Ana's" birthday is this Friday, and we don't know what to do! if they don't make up before then, i don't know what we're all gonna do. help!

This is a complicated issue and I would like you to realize it's not as simple as it sounds before giving me advice, and telling me what the "obvious right thing" to do is.
I live in Sweden. There's a lot of rasism here. The blonds (swedish) all assume anyone who's brunette is uneducated, a trouble maker, and criminal. The brunettes (anyone born anywhere else) all assume the blonds are boring, dorks, judgemental etc. This goes for every age-group. I've heard my 10 year old brother and his friends talk about it. And I teach a sunday school class where I constantly hear things like "i got this bruise from a brunette..obviously" or "dont play that game, only the blondes do". Same goes for grown-ups,...

I moved to a new school this year and i met about
10 new friends and we are all in a group.
But i've got really close with 2 girls from the group ( i'll call them maria and jen )
but maria told me she liked this guy who is sadly in all of her classes. i've known him since 1st grade and honestly, he's really stupid. she only likes him because she thinks he's cute, well he is but thats a different story. Well now shes been going all crazy and saying i need a boyfriend soo badly and i told her it won't go far but she doesn't believe me. she won't stop talking about boys and how bad she wants a boyfriend. its really annoying. i want to keep her as a friend because i love her a lot, but how can i prove to her that this guy isn't right for her? =\

hey..well, my friend and i are both 15/f. and we have an a.p euro class together. well, there we take notes. the teachers lectures us. and my friend was absent last week for one day. i took about like 45 pages of notes that day. not even kidding. and now she's asking me to scan them and give them to her. should I? I really don't want to. I know she's my friend and all. But I consider this course a strict "only study yourself" course. like, don't help people out, or you're gonna get stuck yourself. I don't know what to do. I would like to help a friend. But scanning 45 pages of the notes that *I* worked so hard on, listening to him and gathering info on. PLEASE HELP IM DESPERATE!
I'm so pissed at all my friends. Like I can't even find the words to explain it. Michelle and Hana and I all had this thing were we slept over Hana's house and snuck out with this guy. They just did it yesterday and didn't invite me, even though weve only done it once before it annoyed me.
Michelle is kinda like the "leader" of our group and everyone listens to her. She like makes fun of me for being tall and it pisses me off. And everyone is obsessed with theses people and I feel left out. Some times I just want to cry. Im pretty and everything but im not loud and outgoing and people just dont listen to me. Also he used to like me in 5th grade and then he like me now,but when he tells me and he becomes my boyfriend, he breaks up with me the next day because he claims that he like another girl....
