modem noise! it's driving me crazy

Hey. I recently upgraded my OS to Windows XP professional, and everything was fine.. until I tried connecting to the internet. It seemed the modem drivers had mysteriously been deleted. Well, I no longer have the CD (I've had the modem and PC for 5 years) so I went to a internet cafe today, downloaded a few drivers from the website of my modem (Conexant Soft56k) and installed them. Only one of the drivers worked. All was good until I connected to the internet.. and there's this constant loud modem noise which I can't turn off. I've tried turning the modem speaker down.. to no avail. I've also tried the "Extra initialization" function by adding M0, L0, ATL0 etc.. and other combinations I've found on various places online. itunes troubles

on itunes, all my songs are mixed up in my playlist. they are not in alphabetical order. i thoght they were on shuffle, but their not. so, i put it on and off of shuffle. still didn't work. i have a mac. any suggestions?

Phone calls

Ok,I have an adsl line, and I have a modem that is also a router so I can connect to the internet. Is there a way to connect a phone to the modem so that you make calls from the phone and not knock of the internet line?
How is this done, and do you have to pay more for such a thing? Is there anyway of doing it for free (besides paying for the dsl line)? Is it even possible?
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Call Waiting for Computer

I have a computer to myself I have dial up internet. I can't seem to get call waiting for it. Whenever I am online, it blocks any phone calls and my whole family complains that they are missing phone calls because of me being online. I don't know if I can get call waiting at all. My dad says we can't for some reason, but we have call waiting otherwise, like on our phone line we have it, so why can't we get it for the computer and being online. I was wondering, does it matter was kind of computer you have or does it matter what ISP you have. Is there any way I can allow it to kick me offline when someone calls?

trojan horse

i have a trojan horse on my computer. everyone said to delete it, you have to have someone restart your computer so it's brand new. is there ANY other way of getting rid of it er is that the only thing they can do??

alright so my dad restored my computer thinking it would help my computer and when we went back on to it allll my pictures and music was gone! ive done everything except take it to best buy or w.e because we "dont have the money" what can i do to get my pictures back????

Dell Latitude D610 laptop microphone?

I know this sounds really dumb, but I was wondering how to tell if my laptop has a built in microphone? I have a Dell Latitude D610 and I know most laptops have built-in mics, but I don't know if mine has one. I've tried recording stuff but the computer didn't pick up on any noise.

Dial up AOL, and AIM

I use dial up aol, but I was just wondering if I could use AIM also. Like I downloaded AIM on my computer, and my brother tells me I can use AIM as long as I'm signed in on AOL also. I tried using it, and everytime a pop-up said "The AIM service can't be reached" I don't use broadband, so I'm not sure what to do. Thanks so much♥

Hey there i have a laptop and i want to use the recovery disc what does it do?
Also i want to get rid of some of the unwanted programs but i cant do it through the control panel and removing them that way. whats another way of doing it?

hey so i got this program bearshare which downloads music on to ur itunes but i cant figure out how to get it on to my i pod it wont go on there when i update it. if you could help me that would be great. i rate high.

OKay, si i recently got a macbook computer i used to have an hp pc.
i have site on myspace for layout making and i always used to use paint for what i had to do. Now since i have my macbook i dont really have a program similar to that so, i was wondering what would be a good CHEAP equal to paint that i might already have or be able to download without viruses.

computer to laptop music issues

i just got a laptop for graduation, and i got itunes on it, but i cant transfer my music to it. i plugged my ipod in, but then when it says to transfer the music, it deletes my library on my ipod cus the library is blank on the laptop. its pointless to have my laptop without music on it, cus i wont use it much. my friend told me to download "ipodcopy" which is supposed to help you transfer songs, but it didnt work for me. i can play music with my ipod plugged, in, but i cant have my ipod plugged in the whole time. please actually tell me how to get music on, instead of just saying keep your ipod plugged in. thanks a lot.

Music Downloads

ok. ive been wanting to download FREE songs for a while now. does anyone have any idea where i can download absolutley FREE songs? ive tried limewire and bearshare, but whenever i try to go on search for those, is screws up. so i kinda need some step-by-step instructions and a website to download free songs. thanks!!!
