Job shadowing Posted Thursday May 6 2010, 5:08 pm
I have to do a job shadow for nest year to help construct a career portfolio. I live in a tiny town with no cool jobs. I would like to be a fashion designer one day. That is my passion, my one love. How do I go about doing this? Seeming as we have no fashioneers around here. Thanks!

How can I do that? Posted Thursday May 6 2010, 5:06 pm
I saw this video on youtube of this girl who was making a bracelet and when she was making it she was bring really precise and she wasn't rushing like most youtuber's do. Then she said she was taking her time because she was making it for a store. How does that happen? I would like to do that. To make things for a store would be so cool. How do you think she went about doing that? Thanks!

why am i suitable for a job Posted Tuesday May 4 2010, 9:02 pm
I am applying for a job and on the application it asked:
Why are you suitable for this position?
and:
Why are you applying for this position?
and I don't know what to answer!
First one is ok because it is an entry level job and I can say something like "Because I am a fast learner" but please tell me something better sounding than that?
The second one, I just don't know. I need the money, but it sounds bad to say that, right?
Thank you!

Hello,
So I am moving within the next month or so and before I made getting an apartment final, I wanted to get a job first.
Now, my problem is how can I tell employers that I am moving into the city soon since my address will be from a different city. Can you mention something on a cover letter?
Also, how can I word my objective on my resume to sound good, I am currently a college student and I just need a job or two to pay the bills for my apartment and schooling and whatnot.
Any help would be appreciated...Thanks!

Resume Posted Wednesday April 21 2010, 9:40 am
Lets say you quit a job after paid training, do you have to put it on your resume?

Paycheck after quitting Posted Tuesday April 20 2010, 10:17 am
Hey guys. So not too long ago, I was hired by a well known company to work as a cashier. After the training, I decided I couldn't handle the job, so I decided to quit. I spoke to someone and told them, but they never told me about a paycheck. And since it was my first job, I wasn't aware of anything. Am I supposed to receive a check for the 2 days of training? If so, what should I do? It's been like a month since I told them I didn't want the job. I live in NY. Thanks in advance!

I Love Music, but I'm Not So Good At Writing Or Playing It Posted Saturday April 17 2010, 7:37 pm
Music is my passion. I love it more than anything. Unfortunately, I'm not the greatest singer. I play gutiar, but I'm not really anything special. I've always had my dream of being a guitarist in a band, but I don't really see that working out.
What are some possible jobs that I could have that would involve my love for music, bands, touring, and such? I love discovering new music. I've thought about being a band manager, but I'm just wondering what other opportunities are out there.

Am I being irresponsible for postponing my job search? Posted Saturday April 17 2010, 12:20 am
I'm a 22 year old female with an associate's degree who is transferring to a 4-year college this coming fall. I quit my job in January because my boss was insane and I wanted to work in a different field of interest. I had another job all lined up, but that one didn't work out. I've been applying to various places since, and most of them haven't resulted in anything. The few that have either had schedule or locational issues (I don't function before 9am and for a while, I hated driving).
I saved up a decent amount of money while I was working, and I've been able to maintain the same bank balance thanks to a generous tax refund earlier this year. What I really want to do is stop looking for a while. I'm sick of the process, a...

What To Wear To A Job Interview Posted Wednesday April 7 2010, 5:37 pm
Hi! 19/f
I applied to a movie theater some time ago, and they called me yesterday for an interview. My interview is tomorrow, and I have no idea what to wear. I was thinking of wearing a cardigan, nice jeans, heels and a black shirt but I don't know if that's okay or not. I really need help because I don't really have anything business-y and I don't want to make a bad impression with my attire.
Any ideas?

my young neighbour has an interview, prob is she whilst working at tesco picked a sandwich off the shelf, walked to the canteen at lunch time, and ate it!! She says she looked for a supervisor to sign for the sandwich, and could not find one, because I guess she did not have the wit to plan her lunchtime needss properly.
She also says that on her way to find a supervisor after her lunch in tesco time not hers as hers is limited, a supervisor found her, and challenged her.
No real challenge. She was given the option of handing in her notice after four years service, or being sacked for gross misconduct. She gave her notice in, got another job several weeks later sacked because of bad reference from tesco. Now some months lat...
