Do you think i have mold in the house? Posted Monday August 9 2010, 7:49 am
I am going off to my beach house for a week this week and when we go away, we turn off the air so the whole house gets moist and stuff. Two summers ago my grandma got a huge cough from my beach house and so did i. i was diagnosed at home later with allergetic ashthma that was formed and i wasn'tborn with it. my grandma then caught pneumonia. she fought it for months. we thought it was mold in the vents. so we got it examined and turns out that we DID have mold in our vents but i was allergic to the type in the vents. They cleaned it and then it was fine. but that was summer '08. Now it's summer '10 and that was a while back. OUr beach house has meadows behind it and a bay. I am scared that deadly mold has formed over the years. how long doe...

Red bugs all over yard. (asking again) Posted Friday February 26 2010, 12:02 am
Hi everyone. I asked this question yesterday but I forgot to put in a few details so the answers I was getting weren't exactly correct.
Ok, so firstly, yesterday there was like a million red bugs all over my backyard (on the grass), and there were a lot of white bugs that looked like they were mating & they were just a bit bigger than the red ones.
I know that these bugs are NOT some kind of ants or termites or love bugs.
I live in Victoria, Australia.
There were ants and beetles in the backyard too (not heaps of them though, just a normal amount) and they didnt seem scared or affected by the red bugs.
Last year I saw these bugs on a piece of wood in the backyard and they looked like t...

A million little bugs in my backyard!!!! Posted Wednesday February 24 2010, 8:18 pm
My brother and I were looking at the bugs that were stuck together, so we figured they were probably mating, they were sort of on the concrete in our back yard and hanging around the edge near the grass. Then we shifted our gaze more towards the grass and noticed like thousands of little red bugs crawling all over the grass! My backyard is pretty big but there was like a layer of red bugs all over it. There was probably thousands of them!
A while ago we found an infestation of similar red bugs on a piece of wood out the back and it looked like they were eating it. So we sprayed them with heaps of bug spray and they mostly went away. But then a few weeks ago my sister and her friends were out the back and they noticed that the red bu...

what are the best vegetables to grow in your garden at home? Posted Friday October 2 2009, 12:37 am
I didn't make a garden at home this year but next year I plan to do that because I want some nice, tasty home-grown vegetables for salads and stuff. Anyway, what are easy vegetables to grow at home? I want to go on and make a list so I don't have to worry about it next year. I have enough space to plant whatever vegetables but I don't want to try anything that is complicated or needs a lot of maintenance since I'm just getting into this.

Garden Mum's- how to rejuvinate Posted Tuesday September 29 2009, 12:50 am
I got these garden mum's from walmart and they were doing great. I just watered them cause the soil was really moist for a while, maybe like a few days. I notice now that they are slowly starting to die. I am not sure if it's cause I don't have them in direct sunlight. I know at walmart they were outside so they were in the sun all the time. I am wondering if I should put them outside? Maybe put them in a window right in front of the sun? Right now they are getting more indirect sunlight. Help me bring them back to life! Thanks for the advice.

Plants like Spider Plants Posted Saturday August 15 2009, 6:19 pm
If you have a plant with leaves like a spider plant and the ends are brown, can you cut off the ends where it is brown and they will grow back? It has not been watered regularly and now it is going to start having regular watering...I don't want to cut the ends if they are going to stay flat and never grow back to a point. Thank you.

Is there a cheap way to kill grass other than Roundup? Posted Monday June 15 2009, 2:18 am
We need to kill approximately one half an acre of grass and weeds, and we don't care if nothing will grow back for years to come in that area really. We don't want to use gasoline or try to burn it, but we just want a cheap way to kill everything without having to spend a lot of money on Roundup, or huge black tarps to smother it. Any ideas or do we need to stick with the Roundup + black tarp method?

Relaxing Music for my Plants! :D Posted Thursday January 1 2009, 10:09 pm
So I'm doing an experiment on tropism, and how music affects plants. I'm doing negative vs. positive music. For negitive I'm using "Guarded" by Disturbed. I'm not sure what to use for positive, though. It's got to be something very relaxing, happy, and something I can tolerate listening to at a fairly loud volume for an hour and a half for a week. :P I was thinking something like Jason Mraz, Simplelife, or something like a piano tribute. Any ideas?
Thanks!
