This is to all psychologists and psychiatrists out there. How do you know if you have a good psychologist or
psychiatrist. In other words, how do you know if you have one that is helping you. Reason being I am asking
because Joe (a friend of mine) went to see one and the psychologist is helping him with work related issues but
never is right when it comes to Joes life outside of work. Joe said that he asked his girlfriend when did this
particular thing (he did this particular thing quite a few times) does it bother her. And she said why do I care; Then

My parents are overprotective. They won't let me go places when there are gonna be boys there. My brother, however, has a girlfirend and he can go anywhere with him (he's going to be 16 later this month.) I am 14- and when he was 14, he was able to do stuff. Any advice to say to them? HELP PLEASE...:'(

well i dont know how to afford to get my family presents for christmas. well, i only have a little money a month for chores, and well, i will feel really bad if i cant get them anything. and i dont have a job. 15/f by the way.

my parents are soooooo sheltered all my friends are out every night partying (not drinking or anything bad just having some fun) but my parents all they want me to do is spend time with the family. its not that they dont trust me but they "miss me" when im out with my friends. im sorry they dont like when im gone but its ruining my social life. they dont let me go ANYWHERE!!!!!!! ill ask to go to the mall and they so now we are going out for a family meal or we are going to visit grandma. being with your family is good but i NEVER have a girls night out. im down to like no friends because everytime they ask me to hang out my parents wont let me because they cant share me. my friends dont spend anytime at home they are always out ...

ok so my friend was doing drugs and my mom and dad found out. so now they wont let me hang with her anymore. she doesnt do them anymore b/c her parents found out and she is now in rehab. so any advice to convince my parents to let me hang out with her is much appreciated. thanks in advance!!!

15/f Okay. So my little sister is turning 13 on early January--and we're not sure of how to celebrate her birthday yet. And she really wants it to be special. A party would be good, but she dosen't want it in McDonald's or something, that would be too kiddy. Malling could be an option too, but sometimes her friends aren't allowed to go out. And a masquerade would be WAY too expensive. So she dosen't want something childish, but something fun and cool for her birthday. Do you guys have any suggestions for her 13th birthday celebration? If you do, please share. Thanks.

Alot of people say i give great advice, but i cant help myself on this one. a while ago i went to the emergency room for a broken ankle, and now my mom has to pay $1000 for that. There are too many bills and our crappy insurence just went up. so with all this preasure, my mom is realy stressed out and depressed, wich makes me realy stressed and depressed. plus i have alot to worry about at school, i get good grades so i have alot of responsibilitys. So heres my problem...
my parents are really uptight, and a little closed minded when it comes to my future. They still have this picture perfect mental image of me graduating with honors, and getting a bussiness degree, and starting a normal life. Problem is, I dont want that. I have bigger plans, and a passion for music so great its almost unreal. All i want to do with my life is something meaningful, and inspiring to others like me. Sure it may sound like a childish dream, i want to be a rockstar kind of thing, but hey who ever said we cant dream big right?

I am 15 years old and pregnant. my boyfriend is working two jobs. but we have been fighting alot. and we barly talk any more. my parents just got seperated a couple months ago. my dad got into the whole religious thing. my mom is always out at bars partying staying at guys house having guys stay the night i eel nelgeted and alone. im not sure how to deal with this please help

Okay, Im 16 And A Junior In High School, And My Boyfriend is 18, And A Freshmen In College, We have been together for awhile Now, and we love eachother, but theres one problem. I Won't let my parents meet him. Theres nothing wrong with him, he isn't a bad person, hes really a GREAT person, but my parents dont believe in interacial relationships, and of course he is a different race than me. my grandparents' gift to me

my mom basically told all of my grandparents to only put money into my savings account for christmas. she did this last year, too. and, like last year, she did not even run this by me at ALL. she just told them what to get me, and casually brought it up today.
that makes me very mad. she said she didnt have to ask me about it because "she's the parent". well shes forgetting that "i'm the kid", and that i'm only a kid for so long. i'm in high school. i'm not even a senior yet, and we are not poor in any way. it furiates me that my mom AND grandparents would work out what to get me without even asking what i want. i dont care if its worth it in the future. i want it to be worth something when i get it.

I hav gone to some problem with my family. My dad is in cuba i'm here with my stepdad and mom and brother. my stepdad has been with me for 8 years he is nice but he doesn't treat me the way he treats my brother he gives my brother freedom n he is only 7years old. I'm 13 an d he doesn't let me bring no boy or girl to the house you friends only soe he lets my brother bring all his friends home and he gets to go to the neighbors house. aqnd i just stay home cleaning and helping. please help mewhat should i do??????????????

so, Ive recently met new friends..and they are good people like amazing people. And ive been spending most of my time with these people, and Ive been "changing" my appearance and i know it too. I like who I am, but my parents are all worried. Im not a bad person, I have new friends who im influenced by. They aren't some pot head crazy drunk friends, they are christian people and accept me as me. What can I say to my parents to get them to understand that these new friends aren't bad people and me changing my appearance isn't going to affect my personality or anything of the sort. help.

I have no privacy in my house because of my mother.When I started my period for the first time she told my dad!I mean I understand yeah some time or another he's ganna figure out I have it but he has a big mouth!Now my holl family in and out've my house know's what happens in the bathroom.And there questioning why Im being so rude to my parents!I hate it my diarys been read, my stories EVERYTHING I cant have anything to myself.So yes i have stopped writing in my diary and kept my poems in a hidden binder along with my stories.Last friday I brought home my report card from school and got a's and b's I got in on top of the fridge jasons avg is a D OMG IM SO PROUD and huged him.She thinks im not even here she only likes my cause i cleaned the house.

ok well where do i start. when i was 12 my dad was my gero andi loved him more than anything, then he told me that he had been an alcoholic for many years and all the nights i spent with him he was drunk. my worl came crashing down and i still dont know how to get over it. On last year on thanksgiving week he went to a rehab to get better, and he did.
