I moved to the us about one year ago, and this seems to be one of the worst things that could've happened. Where I came from we valued our tasks and get them done quickly, but I seem to be loosing myself. What's even worse is that my social and family life is crumbling at the same time. I have no friends to talk to, my father hates my mere existence after leaving me for 7 years because I'm not like his eldest daughter, and I'm not a troble maker, my mom has no clue of whats going on in my life, and argues with me a lot because she thinks I'm not supportive (some days I try really hard to please her, but nothing works anymore), I lost the guy I care about because I know my parents don't want me with a boyfriend, and I had to watch him suffer...

Hello! I am currently writing my first research paper for History class, but I am worried that I am falling behind. I am really confused... I haven't done much research and I haven't started drafting it yet. I'm really afraid to tell my teachers because I'm afraid that they'll be mad. I have to admit that at first I wasted some time, but that was because I didn't know where to start. Now I'm going back to school tomorrow (today was professional day for me, no school) and I am virtually empty-handed. What should I do???? Thank you in advance.

One of my teachers has cancer. She missed a lot of school and was struggling to get grades for our class. She took one worksheet and took it for 3 different grades, 2 daily and 1 test. I know I got 100 on it, but when I checked my grade, it showed a 95, 100, & 80. I was really mad because I know she just made up the grades to get them entered in time. I tried emailing her about it a few times because she gets pissed when I try to talk to her during class. She never changed my grade and it messed up my 6 weeks and my semester grade because of this and it screwed up my GPA. Is it wrong that I'm mad about this?

I am an 8th grader that is in the "advanced classes" and I take 9th grade Algebra as well. I recently missed quite a lot of school due to a loss in my family and then we went on break so I didn't get a chance to really catch up. Now that school is back on reprtcards come out in a couple days and teachers must have grades in soon and I have a whole bunch of homework and stuff to catch up on. I am feeling majorly stressed out. These experiences are really ruining my 8th grade experience. The only way I can really de-stress is my daily after school suff. I have drumline, honor band, gymnastics, and colorguard. Okay so I'm 15 and recently moved to an isolated farm in Eneabba there is only one highschool out here with a small amount of kids, I thought it would be great so I went there for about 4 months I absolutely hated it I came home everyday in tears cause it was so bad, I wasn't picked on. Only by one girl who thinks she owns the school but just the things that went on after that I got out of that school and did homeschool for a year, I absolutely hated that too there was no motivation no social side I was really upset about everything and how my fresh start has turned into a depressing year, anyway I have made no friends here and I hate living on a farm I'm use to my city with traffic lights and bitchmin r...

Think I made a mistake quitting college for beauty school

I went to school for fashion merchandising right outta high school. I loved it but after a semester didn't feel like college was the place for me. I've always wanted to be in fashion, that was always my plan. And I've always been great in school, got a 3.7 after my first year of college. But I changes my mind after that year and am now in beauty school.
I love it and am excited about it, but recently am questioning my decision. I am about 40% done, and really just wanna finish it, but I'm so torn. I had surgery last week and was forced to drop out until I am recovered enough to re enroll, and I keep thinking, well I'm already dropped out, maybe u should go back to college... Ok so you know how every unpopular girl envies the popular people?well, I'm one of those envy people and I'm getting tired of just standing off to the side,watching the popular kids walk by like "hey i just got home from a French photoshoot" or something. I have to do a project for school where I get to pick whatever I want. But it has to be something i can physically do. Anyway I want to fundraise for a charity. But I really dont know what charity to do it for. There are SO many problems in the world right now; poverty, abuse- to both humans and animals-, racism, starvation, dieases- cancer, alzhemiers-,etc.
How can I pick one when there is so many? I feel guilty picking one over another even though I cant help them all.

So I have basically accepted that everything that I am interested in doing with my life dooesn't really make a lot of money-which I am okay with. Life isnt about money and id mt career is something I enjoy then money really doesn't matter inthe end anyway.
I am in my first year at university and I am so unsure of whatrI een want to major in! Either major in World Religions & Culture and Minor in Social work or vis versa. What kind of jobs can I even get with this? What will I have more hope in? Just give me any advice, stories, or pointer that you have on this topic please:)

For my project, I have to imagine that the Pythagorean Theorem is running for president(crazy, I know). But anyway, I have to state the Pythagorean Theorem's opinion on four major issues going on right now. The problem is that I have no idea where to start and it's due on Wednesday. Basically, I need help coming up with ways that I can connect the Pythagorean Theorem to issues like:
Occupy Wall Street
global warming
poverty
immigration
terrorism
jobs
Or any other major issue you can think of...

When I was in the first grade, I could have easily been skipped to the fourth. Instead, I stayed in first, but only because my school integrated first, second, and third grade into the same classrooms. I ended up being really bored and after forcing the third graders to teach me everything they knew, I entertained myself by memorizing things like the digits of pi, maps and charts of Africa and Asia, and reading the dictionary. Six years later, after transferring to the local public school in my town, I actually got skipped from sixth to eighth. It's a great challenge, but a lot of kids just hate the fact that I'm there as a twelve year old and they're well past fourteen. My teachers, as always, are supportive, but I just don't know what to do anymore.

The other day, I had asked to go to the bathroom during class, and my teacher had said yes. After I went to the bathroom, I noticed that my locker was open. When I went to close it, I noticed that the binder I needed for the class I was in was still in my locker, meaning that in my hurry to get to class, I had grabbed the wrong binder (my locker is right across from the restrooms). I got my binder, along with a textbook, and went back to class. Evidently my teacher thought that I had lied about going to the bathroom and had gone to my locker instead.
