my hair is getting DESTROYED! .. HELP! Posted Monday January 7 2008, 9:31 pm
I've been straightening my hair almost everyday since school started (horrible, I know..) and since it's winter and extra dry, my hair's been dry too. I have always had long, thick hair and now I just noticed yesterday how THIN it's getting!! Last week I started noticing I was getting those little pieces of hair that stick out all over on the top of my head. When I brush my hair, pieces of hair fall off and break off my head and seriously my sink and floor have hair all over them. I use this --> http://shop.ryf.de/images/smooth-serum1.jpg
Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum. I am trying to only limit my hair straightening to one or two times a week. What should I do about the damage already!! I've always had long thick beauti...

Ripped skirt... Posted Monday January 7 2008, 8:13 pm
I have a new skirt that I love dearly. It's a sort of pencil skirt with a slit in the back. I was getting out of my car and I suppose I bent a strange way and the slit tore a lot farther up than it's supposed to be...
Just curious, is this fixable - I can't sew, but if I brought it somewhere would they fix it for me? Any ideas where I could go and the price. It's a black skirt and I got it at Maurices...
We have a Hancock's fabric about 20 minutes away but I don't know if they fix things or if they just sell fabric... any ideas?

I can't go to the salon every other month or shopping every week. Also, is there any shoes you've seen similar to uggs? I don't like the uggs exactly, i saw a stranger wear something similar and i liked it. i'...

What is the real me Posted Sunday January 6 2008, 2:22 pm
ok I use to wear preppy clothes and a lot of pink last year and now that i am in highschool i like black t-shirts and skiny jeans. Like half of my clothes are preppy and half are punk rockerish. I wear more eyeliner and I am starting to like punk rocker guys. But I still act a little preppy and i still love pink. What is my style or am i just a mix of styles?

How do fashion blogs stay ahead of the curve? Posted Sunday January 6 2008, 12:32 pm
This is just a random question but how do amateur bloggers (when I say amateur I mean people who don't get payed to blog, people who go to school or have a job and just blog on the side..) stay ahead of the curve when it comes to fashion news?
I mean if you're being payed to blog about this stuff, you have contacts and people you can rely on to keep you informed and maybe spill some inside information but what about bloggers that just do it as a hobby? Where do they get their information from before anyone else?

layered hair Posted Saturday January 5 2008, 7:47 pm
For the past 3 attempts at the hair salon, I have SPECIFICALLY asked for layers in the back. What do I get? The bottom half of it razored and the top half not touched at all. My hair is 2 inches past my shoulders, and I want it to be visibly layered in the back [zigzaggy, different lengths, ect.] so that it looks pretty when it is straightened. I have already tried Google, and am not getting the pictures that I need. My friend, Erica, got her hair cut the way I want it and I asked her what she did. She said that she 'asked for bangs in the back' but that pretty much made no sense at all.
I need:
a] Pictures
b] Description for stylist
I am getting my haircut tomorrow afternoon. Please & Thank you.

My Valentine - Vogue Posted Saturday January 5 2008, 7:36 pm
I loved Vogue's "My Funny Valentine" ensembles. I especially liked this outfit: http://www.teenvogue.com/style/market/feature/2008/01/valentine_20080103?slide=3
Could anyone find me some of the kind of clothes featured in that spread (from any of the sets, not just that one) but for cheaper? I so can't afford $250 sweaters. Thanks. : )

Makeup Virgin! Posted Friday January 4 2008, 9:12 pm
I'm 23 years old and I've never worn make up. I use a little lip gloss here and there, but that really isn't considered 'makeup'. My mom never wore it and I guess I just wasn't interested in it. I am now. I don't even know where to begin! Any help would be appreciated!!

16/f Posted Friday January 4 2008, 7:30 pm
i'm 16/female and i want to "jazz" up my style. i have very straight hair that doesn't hold a curl that is just past shoulder length in layers as well as some long side sweep bangs. i use bare minerals make up and usually only wear foundation and some blush. i have black framed glasses. i usually wear tshirts or sweaters with jeans and converses. what are some simple things i can alter my appearance with to make me look better? and what kind of clothes should i shop for to add to my style. (i can't wear skirts because i play cello) thanks!

Help finding perfect prom dress Posted Thursday January 3 2008, 7:32 pm
I'm SO picky on my prom dresses. I absolutely hate those big poofy neon colored gowns with slits up to here and front cuts down to there. I'm all about simplicty with a small embellishment. I love empire waists just because its forgiving and I hate spandex. My favorite colors for a prom dress would be either cream, black, or ruby/pink.
Any advice on websites or designers I would like would be very much appreciated!
