I have a Class B Misdemeanor and can't find a job, Im depressed Posted Thursday November 4 2010, 2:57 pm
I made a great mistake, I have a Class B Misdemeanor for theft. Back in August 2009 I stole a phone, I was so stupid! In April 2010 I activated it, stealing was stupid, but activating it was even more! In May 2010 I have 2 detectives, show up at my house, well of course I had to give them the phone back, they gave it back to the original owner and he still pressed charges. in June I did jailtime, and in August I had court and was given 8mos probation. This was my firsttime to have something like this ever happen! I dont know what I was thinking or what posessed me to do something so irresponsible. I am 19yrs old and My husband and I had to move due to military reasons, I was a CNA before I left and everything was alright, once I moved off...

Need a job Posted Sunday October 24 2010, 10:35 am
So I really want to work at Hobby Lobby (an 'art and crafts' kind of place). I'm only 16 and I haven't had any job experiance before, so this makes it kind of hard to get hired. I've applied at Hobby Lobby before but I don't even know if they ever looked at my application. So I was thinking, what if I turned in a LOT of applications, like once a month or something? I've tried asking for the manager but she never seems to be there :/ so I can't think of any other way to draw attention to my application so I can get a job there. Any advice?

bar interview Posted Thursday September 23 2010, 10:08 pm
sooo. im 20/f. i've worked as a server for almost 4 years now at a few different places, but next week i have an interview for a serving position at this really popular bar near the university i go to and im so NERVOUS! i applied there not expecting to even get an interview, because from what i've heard its pretty hard to get a job there, and you typically have to know someone to get an in. what should i do at the interview to help me out? i've done several interviews through out my part-time career, but not at a place like this. it's a bar/grill but they have concerts, trivia/bingo nights, greek events, and all kinds of stuff, so its a place that hundreds of people apply to. the day i applied there were prob 10-15 other girls in there appl...

me vs. her Posted Wednesday September 22 2010, 3:07 am
im 20/f, living in a small town with a large university. with that said, it is RIDICULOUS trying to find a job here, even after applying at several places around the town. one of my good friends has an interview tomorrow at a bar & grill on the side of town where i haven't looked yet for a job. i'm continuing my job on thursday and was wondering if it would be wrong for me to apply at the place also? i have 3 & a half years of serving experience at 3 or 4 different places including corporate restaurants, whereas she only served over this past summer. so me getting the job would be a bit more likely, experience-wise. i am desperate for money at this point, due to being completely independent from any help from my family and have been...

is FIVERR a scam? will they scam me out of my money? Posted Monday August 30 2010, 6:50 pm
I found this online thing where you can post ads for what you'll do for $5. I am totally down for that because I NEED MORE MONEY. I think I can do a lot of things on the Fiverr site thing but I'm afraid it's a scam and they'll like take money from me or not pay me right or something. Is Fiverr a scam or no? I only wanna do safe online work where i will really get paid. it's just www.fiverr.com

Should I Wear Nail Polish to a Job Interview? Posted Monday August 30 2010, 6:26 pm
I am going for another job interview tomorrow. I was laid off last month and things got tough so I had to come back and stay with my mom until I can get another job. Anyway, I had my outfit laid out and asked my mom what she thought of it. She said it looked very professional for the job and that I'd look great. Then she said I should take my nail polish off before the interview to look more serious about the job. My nail polish is pink right now. Is it inappropriate to have painted nails with nailpolish when showing up for an interview?
