How can I manage university?

Hello, I'm from England and just finished with my college life (6th form). I am waiting for my results to come back in august and then I can hopefully be setting off for university! the thing is I am so scared, it's such a big change for me, I've always had my family with me and we've always had money but my dad has recently abandoned us for another woman and taken almost all the money.
So most of my worries are money wise, since my mother has been a house-wife and is now struggling with money while the divorce is going through and I'll be quite far away by my standards (down in Luton). I'm more than willing to get a job once I get there but my cousin who is all ready at uni said there's no time between having fun and school...

why do i forget things in an exam n why do i get nervous in an exam

i am a very hard worker,i study very hard,i practice n practice the things,even then during the exam i get nervous,i cannot even recall the important formulas which i would have used many times,revised many times,when this happens i feel very nervous,my heartbeat suddenly becomes fast,i get some sort of vomiting feeling,i am not able to know why the things i used to practice almost daily ,are not even rememred my me during the exam..n after the exam i come to know that this formula would have been used there n this thing i remember by myself only after the exam...sorry i am an indian,if there are any grammatical errors.bt please help me...my result is not good because of this..

CalGrants information

Does anyone know when CalGrants will be disbursed? I know you need to renew account and meet a certain GPA. I did both but I have yet to receive any notices on whether or not I am going to get any money. I start school in 4 weeks and I haven't gotten anything from them. Is there somewhere I can contact them?

Most Of The Time I Would Copy Off Of My Best Friend. In Math, Science And In English. I'm Starting College In About A Month And I Don't Think I Am Going To Be Able To Succeed? Is There Any Way I Can Make Myself Do Good? Is There Any Way I Can Motivate Myself? Help!!!

i ws a gud scholar,ws vry gud at studies,i got 1st position in academics 4rm 1st to 12th,bt for d last 2 sems my colg result is nt dat gud,i try n try ,m a really hardwrkr,i knw i cn do vry gud,i hve dat potential,i complete my syllabus 2wice,bt fail,nw my parents r nt wid me ,dey don hve dat beleive on me,wat shud i do wen my parents don believe me,instead dey discourage,i hve no one 2 say dat you cn do,i knw cn do,bt lost all hopes,because m really shattered after dis repeated defeat,bt i knw m still bettr den my frnz who got gud mrks dis yr.,bt you knw world welcomes only d winners,i cn nt get d courage 2 face d world,wat shud i do??.

dorm bedding

I need dorm bedding! I've been searching high and low for the perfect bedding, and its been very difficult. I've looked on the popular store websites and the stuff is either too immature for my tastes or too expensive.
The bedding has to fit a Twin XL bed and I don't want to spend over $250. I would really love a blue/brown combination or just something thats really stylish but not too bright or obnoxious (like tye dye or crazy zebra stripes)
If you have ANY suggestions, I would really appreciate it! Thanks SO much!

So, my spring semester as a freshman in college, I took intro to stats 1. I failed the class. I thought it was a combination of things, like it being my first year and the class was too hard, not prepared enough for the class, couldn't understand the teacher's accent. So, I let it go. Took it again and used a forgiveness policy we have. I got back the grade for the first test and it was like a 50 something. So I said, I BETTER drop it so I don't fail again. So, I decided to take it now over the summer so I would do better. It's the only class I'm taking. So, I felt SUPER confident about the test. I knew I had passed. I looked at my grade and I saw 75. Like, I know I passed. But, I thought I was going to get a 90, at least. I feel so stupid....

making friends in college

so i'll be a freshman this fall in college. I'm kind of a shy/quite girl around strangers, but when I"m with my friends I can really open up and be myself.
Short story- high school was hell for me. My high school had almost 4,000 kids total and it was really hard for me to fit in and find good friends. This year in college, i really want to change that. I want to make friends right away but I'm kind of clueless as to what to do. I'm not really the person who reaches out to other people.. i get kind of nervous when I talk to people i don't know. I just need help. hah. thanks!
oh and my college is small. it has about 2,500 or 3,000 undergrads and its a D3 private school. So the class sizes will be a lot smal...

Graduate Early or Live it to the fullest?

well, i go to a university but I am a commuter student. Right now, I am going into my junior year. I'm a psych major but I plan to get my masters in higher education administration, which is like to work in a university (advisor, counselor, admissions), and maybe pursue a doctorate to become a dean or even a professor. Right now, I go to a good, well respected school. a lot of my friends go to IV league schools and sometimes I feel kind of stupid. Even tho I go to a good school, I mean, it's a state school. But, I guess the reason why I feel a little bad is because I live at home still. I am trying to live the college experience to the fullest because I go to a real school. My life long dream is to be a director.I'm only 13 though. I'm on youtube so if you want to look me up ask, BUT anyway I reserched that you have to go to film school. And all the websites for the schools say kinda that you have to be a guy.
So here are my questions
1) How long do you have to go to film school?
2) Do you have to be a male to be a director.

Financial Help For College

I am an undergraduate in need of about 4,200 dollars by next month for my first semester. I don't have the credit history to apply for some private loans myself and my mom will not cosign me! I have done the federal aid so if you are making suggestions and you don't know what you're talking about please don't respond. I NEED HELP. Telling me to apply for HOPE grant, etc blah blah blah, will not help me. I need LOANS. What do I do? By the way, I have not asked someone in my school, whom knows what they're talking about, for help yet. I just really need my money and asap. If I can't get into to school this semester, my aspirations and dreams will be thrown down the drain. I've already paid for some fees and I've be rewarded with a 5,000 dolla...

Major in Pathology

I'm 20/F
Just did a general transfer study major in a community college, I graduate in December. It's time to pick the rest of my life, and I'm overwhelmed.
I want to major in pathology and be a coroner for the rest of my life. I live in Missouri, and initially I was set on going to Missouri State University, and now I'm not so impressed with their major programs, as there isn't one for pathology, but rather criminology being the closest related.
I'm a good student, and I'm not afraid of living away from home, but I rather stay closer to home. (Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana) ect.
Any suggestions on how I can start to achieve my life goal of majoring in pathology.

In need of college money.

I have been accepted to college and believe me, I am beyond excited to go. Yet, I do not have the enough to cover all finances. I have qualified for one federal grant which isn't enough. The federal aid qualifications consider my parent's income and I haven't lived with them for about a year. I also get food stamps. I was adopted when I was 12, a year too early to qualify for adoption college aid. I don't qualify for hope scholarship because I didn't hold my gpa requirement senior year of high school. I have looked at private loans but I don't have credit or anyone to co-sign my loan. I would be devastated if I couldn't attend college because I can't meet finance means.

Okay so I am in senior year. Here 12th grade is VERY important..My admissions into a good college will be only on the basis of the marks I score in my "board examination" which is held at the end of the year. The papers are not checked by my teachers but by some other teachers who don't know me and are teaching in some other school. This is done to make the examination fair. The cutoffs for any college where i live (new delhi) are CRAZZY. I mean nothing below a 475/500 is acceptable.
I have Physics, Chemistry, Computer science, English and Maths as my subjects.
Im telling you all of this just so that you know there is a lot of pressure to perform well.. and I have to in order to get a good college.<...

Working and Studying

20/f. So, of course, I feel like I need a little more independence from my family. I don't want them out of my life. I just need some space. So, I thought I would take on a part time job. The thing is, my first year in college, I was working and I felt like it was too many hours. My grades weren't terrible but after I stopped, I started getting like straight A's. I'm planning to go to grad school so I need as many A's as possible. Especially, because grad school looks at your last 60 credits of course work in depth. Should I take on a job right now, or just wait? It's just hard being my age and needing money from your parents all the time.
