My bridesmaid dropped out on me...

Posted Tuesday October 18 2005, 2:52 pm

So how do I ask my "second choice" without sounding like "you weren't my first choice." I could deal with being uneven, but I only had 3 to begin with. I could make one of my other girl attendants a "jr. bridesmaid." She will be 10.

I feel so bad :(

Posted Friday October 14 2005, 3:59 am

Well I was going to apply to this new store at the mall that sells pretty high end stuff even though I don't have any experience in retail because I was talking to the chick at the counter yesterday. We were talking about McDonalds and how it makes you fat and she seemed pretty friendly.
I walk in and I see this girl who graduated last year and she was really really popular (infamous). She recognized me but didn't say anything even though last year at school she would sometimes comment on conversations my friends and I would be having in the washrooms. She looked like she works there.
So I walk up to the chick from yesterday and ask her if her manager was there. She said she was the manager and then I asked if I she could tak...

babysitting money

Posted Saturday August 27 2005, 5:11 pm

Whenever I babysit, the parents always ask me "How much do you pay per hour?". The truth is, I don't have a rate, and they always overpay me, which I don't mind :D, but I think it's impolite to take more than 15 dollars an hour. How can I politly set a reasonable babysitting rate that isn't too much or too little?

sry about length....Friends Dead son, dead gift.

Posted Sunday August 21 2005, 11:16 pm

ok heres the deal, My mom and 2 others helped a woman she works with, with the after funneral thing for her son who died in a car crash. As a gift this woman gave each of the 3(my mom and 2 others) a gift card to a restraunt. Well we go to use the gift card and there is no history on it and it hasnt been activeated.( we had another gift card, too that we used). My family wants to know if you would confront the woman who spent Maybe a good deal of money on it.(i assume anywhere between $25 and $100). Should she be told that it wasnt activated like the person who did it was wrong and hopefully she has a reciept, or do we not mention it. How would you tell her that her gift was worth $0?

my elbows were on the table

Posted Thursday July 28 2005, 3:41 pm

i've been dating this high soceity broad for about twelve years. the other weekend, i finally met her parents for the first time. they were nice old timers, a little mad that we havent tied the knot yet, but polite enough to me anyways. the point is, i was at the dinner table in their *HUGE* home, and, being the lower-class truck driver i am, i had my elbows on the table while eating. her parents, sticklers for etiquette, were appalled that their daughter would date someone like me and forced her to break up with me. i think this is stupid. i left the house that night and havent seen her since. should i get back with her, even though her parents kicked me out of their house for talking with food in my mouth? what should i do?

Social interaction

Posted Sunday July 10 2005, 5:14 am

I posted this to a single person, before I knew it could be answered by anybody with an account;
I am a 17 year old male, and came across your site by accident, or possibly fate. I have a big social problem. I've always been described as "the different one". I was always the one who did his work in class, or didn't do things exactly the same way as everybody else. I was just different like that since primary school. (I'll just say at this point that I'm not gay. A lot of people ask that when you say you're "different") The problem is, I've never been able to shake certain difficulties I've had as a result of being unusual. So now I find myself at 17; I've never been to a party where I've drunk. I've never been kis...

penpal problem

Posted Tuesday July 5 2005, 6:06 pm

I put a post up on a penpal website looking for a Japanese penpal to correspond with so I could improve my Japanese and they could improve their English. I specified that I was looking for a Japanese penpal but still recieved two emails from non-Japanese speaking people. I am not interested in corresponding with them but don't know whether to send them an email saying, "Sorry, but I'm looking for Japanese friends only." which seems rather rude or to ignore their email and not reply.

What should I do?

Charging guests for camping party

Posted Tuesday June 21 2005, 8:30 am

I'm having a camping party by the sea for my 18th birthday in July but the only campsite available is quite expensive.

The charge is £5 per head for camping and I want to invite 20+ people. My total budget for the party is £100. I'm providing food and drinks, and even tents for some people. Do you think it would be reasonable to ask my friends to help out with their camping fee and if so how much should I ask them for? I thought about asking for at least £2.50 each otherwise I'll have to severely limit the number of people.

Thanks.

noisy neighbors

Posted Sunday June 19 2005, 7:38 pm

My neighbors enjoy loud music. They are generally good about turning it down when we ask, but lately they are obviously retaliating by being obnoxious in other ways (hollering, honking horns, etc.) One guy even came over and told my Dad that we should do our part and shut our doors and windows. Don't we have a right to fresh air? I don't want this to escalate, but I really find their loud music very rude. Does anyone have ideas of what to do without starting a neighbor war?

Thank you,

Amy
