Managing my work

Posted Saturday October 21 2006, 5:07 am

I live in Britain and in September I started year 10 at school, which means I also started my GCSES (General Certificate of Secondary Education - exams/courses that you work on for two years). Obviously this means that I have been getting a lot more work than I'm used to and I'm having trouble keeping up with it all. Has anyone got any tips on how to manage homework and coursework without completely cutting out my free time?

63.

Posted Friday October 20 2006, 8:48 pm

In school we get Progress Reports, before Report cards to show how we're doing in each class. Once the Progress Report is out, we have 3 weeks to bring our grades up or down until the report card. All my grades are above 85 except Geometry. I have a 63. I am absolutely deathly afraid of showing my father. He'll already be so pissed that some grades are under 90. Idk what to do, he knows when Progress Reports come out, and I have to show him. (It comes Monday, I just know my grade already) What should I do? I already get tutored by my teacher, I am just not strong in math. My father really doesn't understand this, he thinks he's much better than everyone, and expects me to be as well. Should I promise my grade will go up or something?

[[it's really funner and cooler than it sounds]] well, we're gonna practice making bills and i was wondering if anybody had good ideas for bills that can better states and stuff. it can be about practically any topic. mostly about judiciary, education, health, economic, agriculture, and transportation problems. so any ideas would be REALLY helpful!

The area of a pentagon

Posted Saturday October 14 2006, 11:51 am

How do you calculate the area of an average pentagon? I understand trigenometry and pythagorus theorum but nothing very much more advanced so please don't go to complicated. I can probably get my head around more complicated stuff if you explain it slowly though.
Thanks.

(By dividing it into five equal triangles?)

doing better in school

Posted Friday October 13 2006, 8:30 pm

I have a problem of staying on top of things at school. I study, but I freak out on tests. I make a schedule but I rarely ever follow it, and when I come in for extra help it's never worthwhile because I just end up doing worse.

My point is, I need GREAT, EXPERIENCED, and PROVEN advice on how to ace tests and assignments (OK maybe not "ace" it, but rather do dramatically better). Also, give me some great techniques, like for example I heard chewing gum helps you stay awake and attentive on tests, and helps you do better with thinking of answers more effectively.

Also, advice on my "procrastination" problem would be nice as well.

Thanks in advance!!!
