Random question about factorials

I know this may seem like a homework question, but it really isn't. Some of my friends and I were debating the reason that they would use an exclamatin point with factorials. One of us joked and said it was because they produced large numbers so it was like a "wow" factor haha. Anyway, I personally thought it was just because since we couldn't find any proof as to why they would use the "!". But we have a bet going and I've searched google, but I could only come up with one site that helped even a little and all it did was state who had invented factorials which was only partially helpful. Our teacher said she would consider giving us extra credit, but I'd rather just know why (I'm like that, it's weird). But anyway, thanks in advance for any links you can supply.

i just started high school this year, and its so hard for me, mainly because its so different from what I'm used to with junior high. all of my friends have adjusted and seem to go with the flow, but i just cant. I'm up till midnight every night doing homework, i have tests and reports every week, and i feel like i have no control over my life anymore. i cant figure out how to manage my time, because i get home from school from 4-4:30 everyday [i live pretty far away from my school]. Does anyone have any tips on what i can do, and some tips for relieving stress, or better yet stopping it? thank you i appreciate it soo much

Spanish Problems.

(Eigth grade)
I'm in Spanish 1 since the beginning of the school year. Right now I have a C, I'm a straight-A student. Spanish is a very hard class for me, especially since we're conjugating verbs.
How can I raise my grade? I do ask questions and go in for extra help, and I study well. But when I'm given the test, I simply can't make sense of ANYTHING!

Physics Homework - Gravity

I need help on my physics homework. I don't understand it at all. Any help at all would be appreciated. Here are a couple of the questions:
1. What would be the value of g, acceleration of gravity, if Earth's mass was double its actual value, but its radius remained the same? If the radius was double, but the mass remained the same? If both the mass and the radius were doubled?
2. On the surface of the moon, a 91.0-kg physics teacher weighs only 145.6 N. What is the value of the moon's gravitational field at its surface?
If someone could help me work them out, or give me a formula to work them out with, I would really appreciate it.

There is this teacher, and she teacher earth science at my school, and i cant stand her. SHe hates coming to work, and she can never smile. SHe said she doesnt care about us, she just wants to teach., When we ask a question, she makes you feel like an idiot. She thinks she is so smart, but she is just aroogant. ANd...she yelled at me, because i proved her wrong. Can someone giv me some advice on how to deal with her. Thanks , trust me if you have good advice, i will be so grateful.

kay well people call me a lezbo for NO reason. i absualutly love guys but...people call me a lezbo and i have NO idea why. like im not the one thats like constantly dancing with girls at parties and like "experementing" with girls. and its not like i check girls out or anything. they just call me it and it really gets me upset ...and pisses me the HELL off. so like why the heck do you think they sayy im a lez, what can i do to be "unlezboish" and what can i do to make them stop (its just people in general) PLEASeeeE help.

SELF-PLEASURING IN HIGHSCHOOL DORMS? HOW?

I'm a person who has a super high libido. I am thinking of going to a boarding school next year, but I won't be able to pleasure myself then. How would I ever get the room to myself long enough to achieve the big 'O'? I currently do it every single day. I don't know how I'd survive without doing it every day.

Sorry for this being so long. In my school, there are three different teams for the seventh grade. They are 7-1, 7-2, and 7-3. I am currently on 7-2. At the beginning of the year, I already knew that I would be having problems. The teacher isn't exactly the greatest teacher and she is very unpatient and yells all the time saying that it is our fault if we don't understand something. My mom went up to the school and asked the principal to switch me to a different team. They said no because it was illegal and there were too many students on the other teams. Okay, there's a simple rule that states anything to the zero power is 1. for example:
9 to the 0 power=1
why is that?? i understand how you get a 0 power, but why is it 1?? just curious.

okay so this year i started taking a speech class, the thing is..i used to have such A GREAT CONFIDENCE when it came to giving speeches, everyone always says im awesome im always proud of myself after a speech, i know i was funnier and more interesting than everyone else.. (like not to sound conceited or anything, but giving speeches is pretty much what i do!) but i gave my first speech, and my messed up teacher gave me a C and EVERYONE else an A. And it completely screwed me up, after that, when i had to give a speech in english or some other class.. i'd get so nervous and completely screw up and get a bad grade. Three different people called me emo because I was scratching myself with a tac. No I am NOT trying to be emo because I am way to terified that I will die if I even come close to any razor, or knife, or whatever. But I was just bored I wasn't like trying to be emo or anything. So now those three people are spreading rumors that I am emo. At my school if you are called emo then you suddenly are part of a group of people who die their hair jet black and cut their wrists. I saw that group and I don't want to be apart of that even though I am gonna die my hair black. (i've been trying to get my dad to let me die my hair since I was 7!) also i listen to all the same stuff the emos listen to just because i like it i cant help it if we like the same stuff. what can i do to stop the rumors?

Worrying at school

I have a problem of constant worrying about getting things done. I feel as if there aren't enough hours in the day to finish all the homework teachers give us, I don't understand the lessons, then I fail the test, then it all starts over again.
I'm about to break down and cry. I get sick from worrying so much! The stress from school is killing me and my demanding parents aren't helping. What should I do?

OK, now it's my first year in highschool (freshmen) and my grades arn't like real bad but there not what i want them to be and some are below average. Not to be arrogant but i find myself bright. I can get around alot of things in school, for instance i have the rest of my homework done for the year in 2 subjects. The reason why was the teachers had left over workbooks filld out from the past years and i just show that to them. I still learnt eh material because when we get tested i have to know it so i read the vocab words and things. BIG science research paper topic

Our class in science is supposed to come up with a topic that we would like to do a research paper about. The topic isn't something broad. It's very specific. Here are some examples of what other kids picked or could pick:
*How do store owners arrange the clothes in their store to attract more customers?
*Why do humans really laugh?
*What is makeup really made out of?
*What shampoos and conditioners work best and worst on hair?
*What do genetics have to do with your singing voice?
etc, etc, etc.
So really, I could pick anything. I just dont know what to pick. I have to come up with a WHOLE paper about something so specific!!! I kind of would like to do the one "what is makeup rea...
