Fear of shots?

I have to get 4 injections tomorrow and I have a very strong fear of needles. I'm trying to be brave about it but I've always had difficulty with getting them. I know if I see the needles at all I'll be out of there. It's the pain/thought of the needle in my arm that scares me. It's a new doctor so they don't know about my fear. Since it's a new doctor would I need a blood test too? Any advice about that one?

i chew on sponge... why?!

Hi. I'm 15 years only and when I was about six I started putting the bath sponge in my mouth and chewing on it, I have never swallowed it but I am addicted to the taste, smell, and texture of sponge, recently it has become so bad that I have started taking bits of the sponge and putting it in my mouth outside the bathroom. I have found out about something called pica and its the closest thing I can find to what I do but the people who have it swallow what they are putting in their mouth, can anyone help me to identify what I have and if there's any danger to it?

Hi, I'm fourteen girl and I'm tired of everyone treating me different. No body will tell me what's wrong with me and I'm tired of it.. everyone treats me like I'm from another planet.. I cry every day about this because I'm so confused. I don't know what to do. I have terrible social skills&&i have no friends. I have no one, no one seems to understands what I'm going thru. I tried talking to my family, and they only made it worse. I've considered harming myself because everyone seems to think different of me. People stare at me, punch&kick me. uti irritation and pain relief?

I have UTI but I am drinking antibiotics. But I can't get I still have the irritation of having to pee! Please help? Can I do something to just ease it up a little bit

Hey. So I have UTI and I tried to say nothing but I can't take it anymore! It is sooo irritating! I have to pee the whole time! So yesterday I told my mom and she said I will go and check if I have sometimg (after she screamed at me and told me I'm to flirty with my nephew! I mwan he's my nephew!) But she never went.... And I'm not gonna remind her again.

I had unprotected sex around my most fertile days, it has now been 2 weeks since me and my fiancé had intercourse, my cycle is around about every 32 days. Anyway, on my 31st day of my cycle, I was woken up by these horrible cramps, they made me want to vomit, but as I went to the toilet to vomit, nothing was coming up but spit, I had hot sweats & it was really awful. Hi, I'm a teenage girl and I've always felt there's something wrong with me because of the way everyone treats me. They always leave me out, and I am a gal who usually goes with the flow, but to be honest with you, I'm tired of being silent. I have no friends, the people I hang with make fun of me, laugh at me, and some kick/hit me. I've been stressing over this matter for 5 years. My mum can't see from the side of her right eye

Hey. I'm kinda worried about my mum because I was standing next to her and she told me she suddenly couldn't see me standing next to her because her sight was just black. She just can't see the sides. Everything else is fine. :(

Very very very sore throat.

I am a 14 year old female. About a week ago I developed a sore throat, followed by a really bad cough. I had a bit of a runny nose but nothing unlikely. I didn't think much of it untill in the course of being sick I got a really bad sore throat. It felt unbearable. I went to school and in my health class we started talking about STDS and stuff. Where there I was informed that if your partner has HIV and you perform oral you can get throat cancer. A few days before I got my sore throat I had given my boyfriend a blow job. From there I became skeptical about throat cancer.. If botox is poison, why do people inject it?

I heard that the stuff in botox is a horrible toxin that can basically cause food poisoning... how come it helps people get the desired effect they want if its so poisonous? i dont understand how that works... wouldn't it make somebody look worse? more aged or something?

Steroids for a 14 year old

My friends younger brother came up to me talking about how he wants to be some big sports star in high school and all that, and hes saying that he wants to take steroids only for a couple of years in order to bulk up.. and hes asking me if ive heard of any problems for kids of his age who take them.. hes only 14... which is ridiculous, i know! he wants to do it so he can get a scholarship after high school in order to afford to go to college. I'm obviously going to advise him not to take them.. but what should i say and how should i say it? What exactly would they do to someone of his age?? i need to know everything.. I really want to educate myself on this so I can not only educate him, but scare him into not doing it.

Okay this may sound corny... but I'm trying to get my boyfriend to quit smoking by coming up with informational and educational fact sheets about why its bad for your health. and I'm trying to figure out why it causes not only lung cancer, but other cancers as well.. can anyone help me find some sites that give the reasons for this? or does anyone know biology enough to help me out in this area? thanks!

Running tummy during menstrual period.

I started having my period about two days ago n it was ok. After about 5 hours i started to feel like i was going to throw up but then it passed after i took in some water. The next day, around 4am i threw up abt 2 times and started having runny tummy later in the day. I visited the washroom several times. I wanted to know if its normal to have this during a girls normal period?

I just wanted to know if this is 'addiction'-
Sometimes (about twice a day now) I sneak into our medicine cabinet to get some ibuprofen pills (3-5, but the most I've ever had is 26 at one time). I don't really know why, but I tend to grab more pills after a stressful day than a good one, and they just make me feel.. better, in a way (I have no physical pain or need for them, though). Sometimes I ask my mom for Nyquil and pretend to be sick (because I'm afraid she would know if I just took it, but I've only done this twice in this past year) and get some just because I feel better and peaceful afterwords.
Is this addiction? If so,what is the deadly dose of both of these medications? (I swear I'm only...

Punching bag&bloody knuckles..?

Hi, I'm a freshman girl and I am inlove with boxing. Anyways, I've been practicing on my heavy bag and this would be my second day on the heavy bag but yesterday after I got done hitting my heavy bag I noticed two knuckle blisters and they were sore all day long. Today, I went out there and I started hitting my heavy bag again and it wasn't too long until I found blood on my heavy bag so I took my gloves(they are leather btw) off and my knuckles were bleeding. I washed my hands with soap and put band aides on them, my mom helped me wrap my right hand but I started hitting my heavy bag again and I took my right glove off and it was bleeding again!! Could I be doing something wrong? If so, what is it?

I think I ovulated, I'm not quite sure exactly what date, but I got that sort of sticky mucus discharge, 2 days after the mucus stopped, I had unprotected sex. 8 days after I had unprotected sex, my period came, which was a couple of days early. My period was like a normal period, I had the cramps, sore breasts and back ache. I stopped bleeding for a couple of hours and I had brown discharge, it was only noticeable when I wiped after using the toilet, then I started to bleed again, I stopped bleeding yesterday. Now today, I have a bit of brown mucus, only when wiping though. I've not bless ice yesterday, and I still have sore boobs (not too sore) and I'm experiencing waves of sickness, they last for about 10 minutes, it's almost like I'm ab...

Well, I've had my period for almost 2 years now and I've never used a tampon. When I'm on my period not too much since i exercise a lot, i just don't go swimming when I'm on it. When i had practice and i got it i just went swimming anyways because i almost passed out trying to put in an extra slim one. I can't relax my muscles and i feel light headed and the feeling of trying to put it up there its the most grossest uncomfortable feelings ever. How am I ever going to be able to use tampons or have sex when I'm older?!
